A fun family Saturday in the sun in Broadstairs

Last week was so grey, cloudy and misty, I felt I really couldn’t take it anymore. When the weather is so gloomy, I find that it really affects my mood. When I read in the news that it was the longest London had been without a single hour of sunshine for 8 years, I couldn’t say I was surprised. However, the sun finally made an appearance on Saturday and we grasped the opportunity to make the most of it!

Review: Hape Shape Sorter Xylophone

Babies can appreciate music even when they’re in the womb. Seeing Autumn enjoy dancing to music is one of my favourite things. In recent months, we’ve made the move onto playing musical instruments together too. This is a brilliant way to help develop their language and listening skills. We’ve been hitting saucepans with wooden spoons and shaking rice in bottles for a while as well as attending various classes. However, Autumn’s first ‘proper’ instrument was a xylophone kindly sent to us to review.

Easter family fun at Hever Castle

A family day out has been overdue for ages now. We have been excited about visiting Hever Castle in Kent since the beginning of the year, when we first planned to visit during the Easter school holidays! Whilst it wasn’t quite the warm spring weather we’d hoped for, the rain fortunately stayed away for the duration of our visit. This lent itself to us fully enjoying the Lindt gold bunny hunt as we explored the beautiful gardens surrounding the castle!

Review: Milton Antibacterial Products

When I was pregnant with Autumn, I had a list of things to buy longer than my arm. Near the top of my list were the all-important sterilising and antibacterial products you need with a new baby. Parents have trusted Milton for over 70 years. I actually remember my mum using their products 20 years ago when my brother was a baby. As such, I trusted them and turned to them to help keep things clean enough for my baby!

4 times I’ve needed money fast

No matter what your walk of life is, I’m sure you’ve experienced times in your life that you’ve needed money fast. Perhaps you’re in that situation now? I’ve read that it’s generally a good idea to have at least three times your monthly salary saved up in the bank in case of an emergency. However, many people simply don’t have this, or even any savings at all. So what do you do if you need money fast? Life is unpredictable and sometimes you need cash quickly. I can think of 4 times over the last few years that I have!

5 great ideas for your next day off

What to do on a day off? All too often as an adult, our days off of work are spent still working in some capacity. Whether doing DIY, cleaning or looking after children, it’s tough to catch a break. But what if you actually took a day off just for you and spent it doing something fun? After all, surely at least one day of holiday can be spent doing something for yourself? Here are some great ideas for doing just that!

Results With Lucy: My Experience

At the end of last year, I met some lovely ladies from Results With Lucy at the very first South East Bloggers Club meet. I’d been thinking about trying to get fitter, partially inspired by my husband. He started using The Diet Plate and going to the gym a few months ago. He’s lost so much weight and become a lot healthier. When it comes to me and exercise, I need something that’s going to keep me interested. Likewise, it also needs to fit in with my lifestyle.

Local Business Spotlight: Playopolis board game café

In January, I decided to start writing about a local business each month. This is actually February’s post, which has been somewhat delayed due to other projects and my personal life! At the beginning of the year, I celebrated my birthday along with two friends who also have theirs in the same week. We enjoy board games, so trying out a board game café called Playopolis in Rochester, Kent, seemed like a great idea!
