Molly Brown – children’s jewellery to be treasured

Autumn loves borrowing my husband‘s bracelet and trying it on. She absolutely delights in putting it on and looking at it. As such, when Molly Brown approached me to review a piece of their beautiful children’s jewellery, I knew a bracelet would be the perfect choice. Just from browsing through the website, you get a good feel of the quality that they deliver. There are gorgeous choices for everyday wear or special events such as christenings or holy communions. I opted for the Her Love Bangle, which allows for the middle three hearts to be personalised with the child’s initials and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive!

10 things people don’t tell you about pregnancy

When I found out I was pregnant with Autumn in early 2016, I was naturally a combination of excited and worried. After all, it is a life-changing event! It didn’t take me long to realise that there’s an awful lot that people don’t tell you about pregnancy. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t expect to just sit around being waited on with a radiant glow. I knew that I’d have nausea and my body would grow bigger. Pregnancy is a wonderful and magical thing, but at the same time it can also be very tough!

Why rear-facing car seats are the way forward

When Autumn turned 15 months old in January, we knew it was time for her to move out of her first car seat as she had reached its limit. From research I’d done when I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted her to be rear-facing for as long as possible. UK regulations now state that you must have your child in a rear-facing car seat until they’re 15 months. However, whether they change to forward-facing or not after that is your decision. I personally decided I want to keep her rear-facing as long as possible as, after scouring the internet reading numerous blogs and articles, I feel it is safer.

Review: Stikets personalised labels and stickers

Autumn is just like most other children her age; vivacious and constantly onto the next thing. Of course, this can lead to their clothes and other possessions getting lost if you take your eye off them for even a second. We’ve managed to lose cups at soft play and we’ve nearly left her coat behind too. Recently, I started thinking it could be a good idea to start putting stickers on things. This is where Stikets come in!

This Time This Year

Recently, I remembered that I wrote a post called ‘This Time Next Year’ about a year ago. I thought it would be interesting to look back over it, see what my questions were to myself and answer them! I’d also set myself some goals, but have I achieved them?

A different experience at BlogOn X

In September last year, I made the 235 journey ‘oop north’ to Manchester for BlogOn Xmas. It was an amazing, if tiring, day and I was left buzzing with knowledge. One of the best things was getting to meet so many other bloggers in real life, too! Probably needless to say, I signed up for BlogOn X and booked a hotel room as soon as the tickets went live. I kind of enjoyed this event too, but unfortunately the day went rather differently for me this time.

Review: The Copperfield Stonehouse pizza & carvery

Like many locals, I was intrigued when I found out that The Copperfield was changing from a Crown Carveries to a Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery. With its great location on Gravesend Road in Shorne, it’s a perfect meeting place for families like ours who are spread between Gravesham and the Medway towns. As such, I have visited many times over the years. Recently, I was delighted to be invited to visit the newly refurbished restaurant to sample the menu and write a review.

Autumn’s Mummy at BlogOn X

I enjoyed my first blogging conference, BlogOn Xmas so much! As soon as the tickets came out for May’s BlogOn X, I didn’t hesitate to snap up a ticket. Yesterday, I found out that there was once again a list of questions for people to introduce themselves ahead of it, should they wish to. So, here’s a bit about me and perhaps some potential ice-breakers if you see me. Please say hello to me if you spot me – I don’t bite…much!

Hypnobirthing for an anxiety free labour

I spend a lot of time reminiscing over pregnancy and when Autumn was a newborn. Something I meant to write absolutely months ago was about hypnobirth. As a naturally anxious person, hypnobirthing was fantastic for me. Usually, I tend to panic the moment I feel out of control! However, before I embarked on it I was worried it was some ‘weird hippy thing’ that didn’t really work. In fact, it really helped me to be almost completely anxiety free throughout my whole labour.

Making the garden more family friendly this summer

Contains sponsored links¦ Making our back garden more family friendly and suitable for entertaining has been on my to-do list over the last two summers. I was a lot more unable to do things than I realised I’d be when I was pregnant and I didn’t get anywhere last year due in part to SMP. Now that I have a toddler, it feels more important than ever to turn the garden into a place where she can run around and burn some energy. It would also be great to have a space where I can relax, but also feel comfortable inviting family for a BBQ.
