How You Can Maintain Long Distance Family Relationships

Sponsored Post¦ When you live a long way from your family (or friends!) there is no longer any justification for not staying in touch.  Take a look at all of the technological advances that have made staying in touch with family members who live in other countries so much easier. This has not always been the case, though. In the past, keeping in touch with family members who lived a long distance away required a significant amount of effort and organization. Writing letters, mailing postcards, making phone calls, and waiting for return calls are all activities that fall within this category. Despite this, the time spent nurturing and maintaining healthy connections was critical to the process. Even today, it is vital. Because technology has progressed so far, there are numerous options for staying in touch with family and friends scattered over the world. Living away from home for major events throughout the year, such as Christmas, Easter, birthdays, anniversaries, and deaths can be difficult for some people. Particularly when everyone in the home location you left behind has the support of one another and the support of the community, you may feel isolated.

Review: Night Owl 3-in-1 Sleeping Bag

Review (Gifted)¦ Sleepovers and camping holidays are so much fun – but all punctuated in my memories by mild discomfort. Sleeping bags. They’re not the comfiest things, are they? Their weird, slippery material leaves a lot to be desired (although, I do remember sliding down the stairs in them at one sleepover, which was pretty good fun!) The zips often seem to be stiff and annoying. They’re also not cosy in a conventional way. I’ve felt like a human burrito wrapped in my duvet at night, but never in a sleeping bag before. I don’t have trouble sleeping, but it takes longer in a sleeping bag. Well, that was the case previously. I don’t want to sound dramatic, but I have discovered a sleeping bag that is going to revolutionise my future family camping trips by giving me the best sleep I’ve ever had in a tent!

Collaborative Post¦ Starting a business can be a particularly painful experience, literally and figuratively. You could very well experience back pain because of being strapped to your chair 12 hours a day but this very nice little component of starting a business is a very big lesson. You need to look after your health. So what does it really take to look after your health when you are starting a business? Is it about those simple things or is it to do with something else entirely?

House renovation so far and aims for the rest of 2021!

Sponsored Post¦ We moved house last November, as we wanted more room due to our impending arrival. I’ve written about some of my ideas on here already, actually! Baby Reuben is now 8 months old and we have been busier than ever. As such, it sometimes feels like we haven’t got much done. I still keep referring to it as our ‘new house’ although we’ve actually been here for 10 months now. I think it’s probably due to the fact that absolutely nothing is decorated, let alone decorated to our taste yet. Although it doesn’t feel like we’ve accomplished much, we actually have done quite a bit when I look back over the year!

What Are The Risks To Your Business?

Collaborative Post¦ You’ll have started your business with the hope that things would go from strength to strength. And in the early days, that may well have been the case! But if you’re in the business world for long enough, then at some point or another, you’ll eventually run into one sort of problem or another. However, though these problems can be severe, it’s not as if they necessarily need to pose a long-term threat to your operations. The key thing is to be aware of what the risks are; if you have that information, then you’ll be able to put measures in place that’ll reduce the likelihood of them coming to pass.

In this blog, we’ll run through some of the main threats that companies of all sizes can face.

10 thoughts about my child starting primary school

Contains sponsored links¦ The summer holidays has finally come to an end (thank goodness in many ways, Reuben hasn’t really slept since he had bronchiolitis and it’s been a stressful few weeks!) Now the time has finally come for Autumn to start school. As a September-born baby, she’ll be one of the oldest in her year. As a result, I’ve had more time with her to myself than I would have done if she was born later in the school year. I’ve had way more time than I expected as a result of the pandemic, so I feel very lucky in some respects.

Finding Your Dream Moving Company

Collaborative Post¦ Whether you’re a seasoned mover or newbie, moving is always a stressful, horrifying couple of months. Moving locally may be something you’ve done before, but cross-country is another kettle of fish. It’s a much longer, more involved process that will probably strip you of your will to live by the end of it. Jokes aside, you’ll want to make it as easy as possible on yourself, and that’s where the professionals come in.

Finding the right company can seem like a nightmare on its own, but if you just put a little time and effort into it at the beginning, the rest will be smooth sailing. Here’s how to make it as easy as possible.

Book Review: Spikey by Tereza Anteneová

Review (gifted)¦ As autumn approaches, it’s an important time of year for hedgehogs as they prepare to go into hibernation. Indeed, it’s important to carefully check before you light the bonfire just in case some of our prickled friends have chosen it as a place to sleep for the winter! I’ve always been fond of hedgehogs and am keen to pass on the love to my 4 year old daughter, Autumn. We’ve recently read Spikey by Tereza Anteneová, which was a great opportunity for us to learn more about these fascinating animals. Aimed at 2-8 year olds, this book is supported by the charity Hedgehog Street, and “aims to encourage children and their parents to help save the hedgehogs by creating hedgehog-friendly gardens and discouraging predators”.

Lower, Middle And Upper Back Pain Explained

Collaborative Post¦ Back pain is very common. The back is a very complex network of muscles, nerves and veins. It’s the largest surface area of flesh on our bodies and with that, you can expect some inherent weaknesses. The things that we do normally in life, do not challenge our backs outright. Rather they do make them weaker over time and this can happen to any of us. We don’t notice how weak our muscles are until we need to use them. Then muscle atrophy becomes very real indeed. If we force our weak muscles to do something they are incapable of doing this can lead to injury.

Developments in spinal research have completely revolutionized the ways that we can treat the different types of back pain. So much so that professionals like dr timothy steel are helping aspiring spinal experts to enter the field. We have come a long way, with many different ways to treat back pain. From non-invasive treatments and lifestyle changes to corrective surgeries and strength training.

So whether you are if you’re studying to become a doctor or nurse, or trying to understand the nature of your own back pain; let’s understand the various back pain types and common causes.
