There’s something extra special about visiting somewhere you’ve wanted to go for a long time and it living up to your expectations. Even better if it exceeds them! At the weekend we visited Emmetts Garden near Sevenoaks in Kent. I’d been meaning to go there to see the bluebells since before I was pregnant with Autumn, so it had been at least 6 years!
Kent & Medway
Did we come across a ‘big cat’ in Kent?
I recently saw a headline suggesting that a black panther could be on the loose in Gloucestershire. A walker spotted what looked like a large black cat and took some photos, which unfortunately are quite obscured. There have allegedly been several other sightings in the area too. I used to think such stories were hoaxes. However, this headline evoked memories from around 10 years ago when I may, or may not, have had a ‘big cat’ encounter myself in the Kentish countryside.
The 4th trimester in a pandemic
The 4th trimester with my 10 week old son has been very different than with my 4 year old daughter, thanks to the pandemic. Of course, my pregnancy and the birth experience were effected by it too. It’s all been very strange and somewhat unexpected as I thought things would have vastly improved by a few months into my pregnancy.
Zog and The Highway Rat at Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater
In the current climate, it seems really odd that only last weekend we were at the cinema. It’s certainly felt like longer than a week with all the news and tension. However, our last cinema trip for the foreseeable future was a lovely experience. Last Saturday, we were invited to see a screening of Julia Donaldson’s Zog and The Highway Rat at Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater. Autumn, Dave and I were really excited to see it and relax in the luxurious reclining chairs that make the cinema experience so much better!
What to do with the kids in Kent this February half term
It can be a bit of a challenge trying to work out how to keep children entertained during February half term. The weather doesn’t always lend itself to fun activities. However, there is a lot going on in Kent and Medway this week that won’t break the bank. Check out this list to help prevent you from hearing the dreaded groans of “I’m booooored!”
