My Lockdown Silver Linings

I think I need to write about something else soon, as I feel like all I really write about is lockdown at the moment! However, this is our life at the moment. This time, I’ve been tagged by Whimsical Mumblings to write about all the silver linings of lockdown life. I can’t even think of a word awful enough to describe how horrendous this virus is; the loss of life, the illness, the anxiety and the stress on our NHS and keyworkers. However, there is plenty to celebrate too. Whilst we need to remember the severity of the situation and not become complacent, it is important to also shift our focus to these positive things.

UK lockdown in our house: Weeks 5 & 6

Oops, I’m a bit late writing this! The truth is, I’ve just been so busy! Bizarrely, I seem to be even busier in lockdown than I usually am. While I’ve noticed a lot of people on social media being bored, I’m finding all sorts of things to do. I’m still finding that giving myself a list of tasks to complete each day is helping to keep me a sense of purpose. It would be so easy to just flop around and fall into a state of depression, but I’m determined to keep a good state of mental health. These are challenging times, so I need to do what I can to keep afloat. I guess we all do, in one way or another.

Saving money during lockdown – it can be done!

Collaborative Post¦ Is the coronavirus lockdown playing havoc with your finances? For those who are no longer able to work, helping our finances stretch a little further would certainly be welcome, especially because we’re not getting 100% of our much-needed paycheck.

It’s easy to think that because we’re not eating out, spending money on fuel and days out or even new outfits for every occasion that we’d be saving more money. Sadly, that’s not always the case. From daily takeaways to online shopping through boredom, buying kids entertainment and toys as well as rising utility bills because we’re at home all the time, some of us are losing more money than normal. But, help is at hand – here we’ll look at how you and your family can save money during lockdown and come out of the other side in a more financially stable position.

Lockdown Nursery Homeschool: Week 6

By some miracle, Autumn is still actually enjoying homeschool and eager to start each day. It works well for me as it provides us some structure and it gives me something to focus some of her seemingly endless energy on! We also have a lot of fun while she is learning. Obviously, it adds extra stress and pressure on me and it takes me ages to compile all the activities we’ll do over the course of a week. Honestly, I completely understand if some of you have tried to homeschool and given up on the idea. However, for me, I think it is worth it. I think being able to homeschool Autumn like I’ve always kind of wanted to do is definitely one of my silver linings of lockdown life!

Selecting The Perfect Family Car: Factors To Consider

Collaborative Post¦ Let’s be honest about it, choosing a new family car isn’t exactly thrilling. In fact, the whole process can end up giving you a bit of a headache – after all, there’s just so much to think about and consider.

The chances are that the kids will have an opinion about the type or colour of car they want you to buy, while you and your partner will both also have ideas about the kind of car you should get, as well as how much money you should spend on your new vehicle and whether you should buy second-hand or go brand new.

The truth is that purchasing a new family car is a huge investment – whether it’s bought second-hand or brand new – so it’s important to think carefully about what car to get. You need to think about the kind of car you want, whether to buy brand new or second-hand, and how much you want to spend on it at a maximum.

There’s a lot to consider when selecting a new family car, however the process doesn’t have to be a total nightmare. Below is a guide to some of the crucial factors to take into account when it comes to selecting a new family car – have a read, take note, and hopefully you will find selecting a car a little easier and less stressful than you thought it would be.

What Are the Most Popular Options for Carpet Cleaning at Home?

Collaborative Post¦ When choosing the most appropriate carpet cleaning method, we need to pay attention to several important factors. The type of carpet, the degree of soiling of the carpet, the available drying time and possibly the use of pre-treatment agents must be taken into consideration. After clarifying these requirements, the correct domestic carpet cleaning method can be selected.

Collaborative Post¦ Too few of us follow our dreams. It might be difficult to admit to, but it’s true. Life can be confusing, and it’s really easy to end up feeling stuck in a rut, unable to pursue what will make you truly happy. Just as people are all individuals, everyone has individual dreams. Some of you may want nothing more than a big family, whilst others might dream of success in your careers, or living in a particular place, or a combination of all the above. Other than fame – which can strike randomly and which is nearly impossible to predict – all these dreams are completely achievable. It might take hard work, and patience, and just a pinch of luck, but you can have the life you want, as long as you don’t give up on it!

Some of the most popular dreams are being financially secure, having a family, working your dream job, travelling the world and living in your dream home. Read on for a few tips on how to grasp hold of these dreams with both hands, and never let them go.

UK lockdown in our house: Week 4

I don’t know about you, but the weeks seem to be going quicker and quicker as lockdown continues. Perhaps it’s where lockdown life is becoming the ‘new normal’. That said, something happened over the last week that surprised me.

Back to the Garden with Sudocrem

Collaborative Post¦ I’m delighted to be working with Sudocrem again this spring, this time on their new Back to the Garden campaign! I love spending time in the garden with Autumn (aged 3) – more so than ever during the UK lockdown! However, you don’t have to have an outdoor space to enjoy some gardening with children. Let’s take a look about what Back to the Garden is all about. (Psst, there’s also a giveaway!)
