Back to dance school with Bloch

Collaborative Post¦ It’s not just regular schools that have started up again this September. Dance schools are now back too, hooray! Autumn has always loved dancing. In fact, she first started dancing on my first Mother’s Day when she was 6 months old. She heard some music and started smiling and wiggling from side to side, moving her chubby little arms around. For years, she seemed content just dancing in whatever way her mood took her. However, recently she’s expressed an interest in ballet. As a child, I did modern, Irish and a little bit of tap. Therefore, it was very exciting to sign my daughter up for dance lessons and choose her ballet clothes from Bloch.

Training: Why It’s Important!

Collaborative Post¦ If there is one mistake that many small businesses make, it’s not providing enough training to their staff. Employee training is often neglected, leaving small businesses with fewer staff and a much higher turnover. The businesses themselves worry too much about wasting time on training when really, it’s not a waste at all. Training is going to be the backbone of your business, and without it, you will end up with dissatisfied employees and a failing future. Larger businesses often skip out on training and they don’t realise how much of a difference it can make to their staff. Not only that, but without training, you are not furthering your employees’ futures. They come to work for you with the idea that their future is in your hands. They have goals and wishes, and you are able to make them come true if you help them to further their knowledge and expertise.

As a business leader, you have to put yourself in the shoes of your staff, and your customers, when you think about it. Your customers need to know that your staff can cope with queries, but an untrained workforce is often a dangerous one, certainly to the reputation of your organisation. No matter the size of your business, compliance training and other training types are vital to the continuation of the excellent reputation that you have built for yourself. It has to include health and safety training, security training, online software training and more. Whether you employ three people or three hundred people, training has to be well timed, effective and targeted. The right training courses in your business do so much for your employees, and we’ve got some of the reasons it’s important.

Funny things my 4 year old says

This week, half a decade has passed since I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. If you’ve been reading the blog for some time, you’ll know that since she could talk, I’ve done a round-up of some of the funniest things she’s said that year. Children are just so adorably funny. I love looking back on these! This year has provided many more hilarious moments.

How You Can Maintain Long Distance Family Relationships

Sponsored Post¦ When you live a long way from your family (or friends!) there is no longer any justification for not staying in touch.  Take a look at all of the technological advances that have made staying in touch with family members who live in other countries so much easier. This has not always been the case, though.

In the past, keeping in touch with family members who lived a long distance away required a significant amount of effort and organization. Writing letters, mailing postcards, making phone calls, and waiting for return calls are all activities that fall within this category. Despite this, the time spent nurturing and maintaining healthy connections was critical to the process. Even today, it is vital. Because technology has progressed so far, there are numerous options for staying in touch with family and friends scattered over the world.

Living away from home for major events throughout the year, such as Christmas, Easter, birthdays, anniversaries, and deaths can be difficult for some people. Particularly when everyone in the home location you left behind has the support of one another and the support of the community, you may feel isolated.

Review: Night Owl 3-in-1 Sleeping Bag

Review (Gifted)¦ Sleepovers and camping holidays are so much fun – but all punctuated in my memories by mild discomfort. Sleeping bags. They’re not the comfiest things, are they? Their weird, slippery material leaves a lot to be desired (although, I do remember sliding down the stairs in them at one sleepover, which was pretty good fun!) The zips often seem to be stiff and annoying. They’re also not cosy in a conventional way. I’ve felt like a human burrito wrapped in my duvet at night, but never in a sleeping bag before. I don’t have trouble sleeping, but it takes longer in a sleeping bag. Well, that was the case previously. I don’t want to sound dramatic, but I have discovered a sleeping bag that is going to revolutionise my future family camping trips by giving me the best sleep I’ve ever had in a tent!

How to Not “Outsource Your Health” When Starting a Business

Collaborative Post¦ Starting a business can be a particularly painful experience, literally and figuratively. You could very well experience back pain because of being strapped to your chair 12 hours a day but this very nice little component of starting a business is a very big lesson. You need to look after your health. So what does it really take to look after your health when you are starting a business? Is it about those simple things or is it to do with something else entirely?

House renovation so far and aims for the rest of 2021!

Sponsored Post¦ We moved house last November, as we wanted more room due to our impending arrival. I’ve written about some of my ideas on here already, actually! Baby Reuben is now 8 months old and we have been busier than ever. As such, it sometimes feels like we haven’t got much done. I still keep referring to it as our ‘new house’ although we’ve actually been here for 10 months now. I think it’s probably due to the fact that absolutely nothing is decorated, let alone decorated to our taste yet. Although it doesn’t feel like we’ve accomplished much, we actually have done quite a bit when I look back over the year!

What Are The Risks To Your Business?

Collaborative Post¦ You’ll have started your business with the hope that things would go from strength to strength. And in the early days, that may well have been the case! But if you’re in the business world for long enough, then at some point or another, you’ll eventually run into one sort of problem or another. However, though these problems can be severe, it’s not as if they necessarily need to pose a long-term threat to your operations. The key thing is to be aware of what the risks are; if you have that information, then you’ll be able to put measures in place that’ll reduce the likelihood of them coming to pass.

In this blog, we’ll run through some of the main threats that companies of all sizes can face.

10 thoughts about my child starting primary school

Contains sponsored links¦ The summer holidays has finally come to an end (thank goodness in many ways, Reuben hasn’t really slept since he had bronchiolitis and it’s been a stressful few weeks!) Now the time has finally come for Autumn to start school. As a September-born baby, she’ll be one of the oldest in her year. As a result, I’ve had more time with her to myself than I would have done if she was born later in the school year. I’ve had way more time than I expected as a result of the pandemic, so I feel very lucky in some respects.
