Review: Bitdefender Antivirus

Sponsored Review¦ Bitdefender are a global leader in cybersecurity and are regularly in receipt of awards in the industry. I’ve been using the same antivirus software for 13 years. However, I always keep open-minded when it comes to security software. So recently I ditched what I had been using and put Bitdefender to the test!

Review: Christmas baby & toddler shoes from Dottyfish

Review¦ I discovered Dottyfish when Autumn was a toddler. I previously worked on a review with them and was so impressed by their work with the London Podiatry Centre to make sure that their shoes help children’s feet to grow healthily. When I attended BlogOn in October, I was excited to see that since Autumn grew out of their shoes, their range has expanded. They now offer bibs to match some of their shoes and I was especially delighted by some of the Christmas designs they had on their stand. I am pleased to be working with Dottyfish again, this time on a review of one of their pairs of Christmas shoes for Reuben!

Review: Dr Barbara Sturm The Good C Vitamin C Serum

Review (Gifted)¦ My skin has been problematic since I hit my teen years, unfortunately. I never outgrew acne and my skin has gone through phases of being oily, dry or both! When I was pregnant last year, my skin became the best it had in years. I have no doubt it was in part due to less stress in my daily life and no longer wearing makeup, as well as the hormones. While I’m still rarely wearing make up, my skin has definitely gone downhill since I gave birth in January. My skin tone and uneven pigmentation seems to have been worse than ever, plus I’ve had lots of dry patches. I’m always keen to try out new products, so I was excited to put Dr. Barbara Sturm The Good C Vitamin C Serum to the test.

Review: Inspire Advent Tree

Review¦ As a self-confessed chocoholic, I love an advent calendar as much as the next person! However, advent calendars are yet another thing that has become more commercialised and less about their original meaning. So this year, our family will be counting down the days to Christmas using the world’s kindest advent calendar, the Inspire Advent Tree. My 5 year old daughter will have a chocolate one too, mind you, I’m not mean. However, I’m keen to show her that the Christmas season is about kindness, not just presents and sweet treats!

7 tips to make moving house easier

Collaborative Post¦ Wow, I can’t believe it has already been a year since we moved house. I still refer to this as our ‘new house’. Largely because we haven’t put our mark on it yet, I think. We haven’t done any decorating yet, everything we’ve done has been practical. I’ve recently written about home improvements we’ve made so far. Also, I gave birth to baby Reuben in January so time has just flown looking after two children. I still can’t quite believe that I was crazy enough to move house during a pandemic, lockdown and at 34 weeks pregnant! In hindsight, there are a few things I’d have done differently to have made things go smoother as moving house was very stressful!

Book Review: Toy Mountain

Book Review¦ When I’m choosing books for Autumn, I seem to follow one of two paths. I either go for something ridiculous and funny or something that I think she can learn an important lesson from. Toy Mountain by Stef Gemill is the latter. Modern life and consumer culture encourages children to be materialistic. There are constant adverts in their face with bright colours and fun music for toys that will just have no longevity, but to a child they look amazing. One of my biggest problems is with the craze of ‘collectibles’. Small bits of plastic that get looked at for about 10 seconds and inevitably end up in the bin within the space of a year. I was looking forward to reviewing this book in the hope that it might cause a shift in Autumn’s thinking. In fact, a lot of children could probably do with this with Christmas just being around the corner!
