Review: Inspire Advent Tree

Review¦ As a self-confessed chocoholic, I love an advent calendar as much as the next person! However, advent calendars are yet another thing that has become more commercialised and less about their original meaning. So this year, our family will be counting down the days to Christmas using the world’s kindest advent calendar, the Inspire Advent Tree. My 5 year old daughter will have a chocolate one too, mind you, I’m not mean. However, I’m keen to show her that the Christmas season is about kindness, not just presents and sweet treats!

Kindness

When our Inspire Advent Tree arrived, it came in lovely packaging. It came with the quote “Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give – Anon”. It’s so true, even just a smile can go a long way! That’s what this calendar is about. Simple little activities you can do to count down to Christmas with as a family, with children from around 3 years upwards.

Our Tree

Autumn had lots of fun decorating our beautiful wooden tree with the magnets to decorate it. She particularly liked the snowmen! Each day of December before Christmas, we’ll find the date on the calendar and look at the back of the magnet to see what our act of kindness for the day is! These tasks include things such as “Donate a toy to charity”, “Give everyone in your family a hug” and “Do something good for the planet”. Once the act of kindness it has been done, it can be placed back on the tree with the completed act face side up. Therefore, by Christmas day your tree will be covered in all the wonderful things you have done that month! It’s such a wonderful idea and I’m looking forward to making this part of our Christmas traditions for our children.

About Inspire

Founded by Ben and Caroline Floyd, Inspire was set up during the early days of Covid-19 lockdown. It was a way to teach their own children about how important it is to help people in need. It was also a way of helping to raise funds for UK charities who were struggling as a result of the pandemic.

The Inspire Advent Tree is available for £45 at Inspire. It raises funds for Best Beginnings, which is a charity that works to give children the best start in life. Watch this space too, as it’s only the first in a exciting line of products to be released by Inspire!

Disclosure: We were gifted an Inspire Advent Tree for the purpose of this review. As always, all opinions are honest and my own.
