Collaborative Post¦ There’s one thing that many of us learned from the lockdown – life is fleeting, so it’s best to make the most of it while you can. This might sound like a dour note, but really, it can help wake you up to the beauty around you and the benefit that you see from everything you do. This can help you trim your life of the fat that it might accumulate from time to time, and it may even help you focus on moving forward with confidence and becoming a more developed person, willing to risk your comfort for progress.

But what does that mean? Well, it means that now that the lockdown is lifted, the chance to go out and do things is becoming more the norm. This means that revivifying your life anew and trying to enjoy a few practices that you may not have tried for a while can be truly riveting, and give you a new lease of life. Even if you have responsibilities, you may find time for the following experiences:

Celebrating 6 months of breastfeeding Reuben

Hooray, it’s World Breastfeeding Week! I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share some photos from the milk bath I did with Reuben a few weeks ago. In breastfeeding circles, it has become quite popular to give your baby a milk bath to celebrate 6 months of breastfeeding. It’s a cute trend, so I wanted us to join in on the fun! Of course, you don’t need to be breastfeeding to join in – you can just use a different kind of milk.

How Can I Create a Safe Bedroom?

Collaborative Post¦ Keeping your children safe is at the forefront of every parent’s mind. While you may take steps to increase their safety when out and about, such as the use of a seatbelt, or learning to cross the road safely, you may also need to consider anything that might pose a danger within the home. Even your child’s bedroom could potentially hold items that could lead to harm. By considering these thoroughly, you may be able to give them a safe, personal space that they can enjoy.

Why you should use a mortgage broker

Sponsored Post¦ I can hardly believe it’s been 9 years since my husband and I bought our first home together. We’ve remortgaged several times since. Then last year we found out we were expecting our second child and decided to buy a bigger house. When we were buying our house, we used a mortgage advisor and broker who worked at the estate agent’s. Ever since that experience, we have continued to use a mortgage broker whenever we have needed to. Whether it’s been for a brand new mortgage or for a remortgage, it has definitely been beneficial.

Caught in the wave of bronchiolitis

TW: Hospitalisation of baby, mention of anxiety¦ Well, this is a first. I’m beginning to write this post from a hospital bed. Thankfully, I’m writing in the knowledge that everything seems to be fine now. Bronchiolitis is really common in babies in the autumn and winter. However, the nurses here have told me that thanks to lockdown last winter, the usual wave of cases coming in didn’t really happen. I actually read a news article last week saying that due to a combination of that and people now mingling, lots of babies are now catching respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the virus responsible for it and hospitalisations are rising. According to Public Health England, over 60% of children have been infected with it by their first birthday. This rises to over 80% by 2 years of age. For most, it is a mild illness but some require hospitalisation. Unfortunately for us, Reuben was one of them.
