Week Three: 30 Days Wild 2021

Wow, it feels like June has gone so fast! It feels like yesterday I updated you on how week 2 of our 30 Days Wild had gone, now here I am with week 3! This week felt a bit more challenging. I think this is partially because the weather has been inclement once again, which has somewhat limited what we can do. While I don’t mind going outside in the rain, having a young baby who hates getting rain on his face doesn’t really lend itself to that! We’ve also been doing more rewiring this week so my husband has been busy as when he hasn’t been busy with his day job he’s been helping my brother with some of the elements of that. While in a nicer world I’d happily go for a walk in the woods on my own with Autumn and Reuben to do some of the activities in mind, the harsh reality is that I can’t.

Still, here is what we’ve been doing in spite of the challenges!

Week Two: 30 Days Wild 2021

After a successful first week of 30 Days Wild, I think I speak for us both when I say we were excited to start a new week of fun nature related activities! Already, I have noticed that Autumn is paying attention to nature more. Me too, actually. I have noticed she’s becoming braver regarding nature too. Half-term fun in the sun at Hever Castle

Gifted & contains sponsored link¦ We didn’t go to Hever Castle at all last year due to a combination of the pandemic and me being pregnant with our rainbow baby. I think the last time we went was Christmas 2019 and I missed it so much! It is without a doubt one of the best places to visit in Kent for a day out. Therefore, when I could see that sun was finally forecast for the late May bank holiday weekend, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Fortunately, Hever Castle’s online booking system made it very easy to book a slot. We chose a morning one to allow us to make the most of the day-and what a glorious day it was!

Reopening of Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater

Collaborative Post (Gifted)¦ What was the last ‘normal’ thing you did before the lockdown at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic? For us, it was going to see Zog  and The Highway Rat at Showcase Cinemas de Lux Bluewater last March! It seems a lifetime ago now. Although cinemas opened again for a while last year, I was heavily pregnant with Reuben and largely self-isolating. Therefore, with the re-opening of cinemas this week it almost felt like we’d come full circle when we went to see Peter Rabbit 2 yesterday.

Bluebells at Emmetts Garden

There’s something extra special about visiting somewhere you’ve wanted to go for a long time and it living up to your expectations. Even better if it exceeds them! At the weekend we visited Emmetts Garden near Sevenoaks in Kent. I’d been meaning to go there to see the bluebells since before I was pregnant with Autumn, so it had been at least 6 years!
