A letter to my daughter at 12 months – 1 year old!

Dear Autumn,

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I gave birth to you and first held you in my arms. I was overwhelmed with love and adoration, just as I am today when I look at the beautiful little girl you’ve become. We went through a lot, but you came out fighting and caught up to be just where you should be! I’m so proud of you, but scared of how fast the time has slipped away already, despite the fact I’ve tried desperately to savour it all. I’m going back to work next week and am already terribly sad about the time I’m going to miss spending with you, as well as worried how you’re going to get on.

Review of For Aisha Baby Food

Sunday Review: For Aisha baby food

If you’ve weaned a baby in the last 2 years, or have recently started looking at what foods are available, you may have heard of For Aisha. They create baby food which is bursting with flavour, taking inspiration from around the world. They are also ideal for Muslims, as their baby foods are halal.

I thought that these pouches would be a great way to introduce her tiny tastebuds to some more exotic flavours. Whilst the usual baby foods such as cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese etcetera are great, I thought it would be good for her to try something a little more interesting.

He’s wonderfully hands on with Autumn and has expressed in the past that he is worried about missing her doing different things like crawling and walking for the first time. I thought I’d do a little interview with him about his thoughts on paternity leave and working, leaving his baby at home.

Feeding the family doesn’t have to be expensive or mean eating unhealthily. It can also be quick with the help of a microwave oven! I’ve previously written about some of the ways I like to save money when I’m in the supermarket. However, this time I’m focusing my money saving tips on feeding the family cheaply.

Tudor falconry at Dover Castle

On Saturday (9th September), Dave and I decided we’d visit Dover Castle with Autumn. Birds of prey, particularly owls, are one of my many interests. As such, I really wanted to go and watch their historic falconry displays. Whilst I’ve watched several displays before, this one is different as it looks at the historic elements of falconry. In this case, the focus was Tudor falconry.
