5 simple ways to refresh your bedroom over a weekend

After the bright dazzling lights of the Christmas season, after the tree and decorations have all been put away for another year, and the miserable weather (hopefully) starts to brighten up again, your bedroom might be looking a little tired. Stuffy, cramped, messy and cluttered – all these things stop our bedrooms from being the relaxing and calming retreats we need to unwind after a busy day at work or running around after the kids. So, with that in mind, how can you quickly transform and refresh your bedroom with as little disruption as possible? Well, check out these 5 simple ways to refresh your bedroom over a weekend!

Are ghosts real?

Do you believe in ghosts? A 2013 poll indicated that around 52% of people in the UK do. I wasn’t surprised by this percentage. Around half of people I’ve spoken to about ghosts believe in them and half don’t. I used to fall in the latter group. However, a few years ago something happened which left me not quite so sure.

Frugi SS19 Summer of Scillyness!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of being invited to the Frugi SS19 press launch in London. Many of you will know that I am a huge fan of Frugi, their soft organic cotton and bright, fun designs! The upcoming collection is inspired by the Isles of Scilly, which lay 28 miles off of the Cornish coast. Think bright colours, seashells, puffins and ice cream! As is standard for Frugi, these designs will appeal just as much to the children wearing them as the adults buying them.

Celebrating my 27th Birthday in Brighton

Happy New Year! It feels a little late to say it now, but I’ve only returned to blogging this week after Christmas. As it was my birthday on New Year’s Day and the first week of January is often quiet, I decided to take it off. If you’re interested, my first post of the new year was about how you can help wild birds this winter, which was published on Monday. I wasn’t sure if I was going to write a post about it. However, I had such a lovely time celebrating my birthday in Brighton that I wanted to relive it by writing about it here!

How You Can Help those in Need this Winter

As we begin to move into the colder months of the year, our thoughts turn to festivities, celebrating the New Year, and bundling up in the warm out of the worst of the winter weather! However, for many people around the world, the winter is a constant burden, where every single day is a struggle for survival.

From the homeless in our own communities who will be spending the winter on the streets to vulnerable people struggling across the world, now is the time to spare a thought for those in need and consider what we can do to support these people in their hour of need.

Review: Dinotropolis Adventure Park with a toddler

Last Friday, we went to check out Dinotropolis Adventure Park which opened at Bluewater last month. Autumn loved dinosaurs, so as soon as I heard about it I thought she’d enjoy it. In fact, the night before, we’d had dinner at neighbouring Rosa’s Thai Cafe and she’d been excitedly shouting “DINOSAUR!” at the advert on the wall! As we headed to our booking at 2pm, we were looking forward to some lunch and dinosaur themed fun.

Review: Rosa’s Thai Cafe at Bluewater

Last week we accepted our invitation to review Rosa’s Thai Cafe, which has recently opened at Bluewater. I really enjoy Thai food and have always felt like Bluewater was missing a Thai restaurant, so it’s great that that has now been rectified. Located next door to the cinema and Dinotropolis, it is ideally positioned for a date with dinner and a film or a day out with children. That said, our main concern before putting it to the test was our 2 year old daughter Autumn. She had never eaten Thai food before!

Review: Shaken Udder’s Mootastic Milkshakes

I was aware of Shaken Udder’s milkshakes for a good couple of years before I met them at a local blogging convention last autumn. The fun cartoon cows on the bottles were what drew me to them first. However, the more I learn about the company and these milkshakes, the more I love them! If you’re a long-term reader of my blog, you’ll know that I enjoy supporting local businesses. As these guys are only an hour up the road from me, across the Thames in Essex, it just adds to their appeal for me. Anyway, that’s enough of my waffling. Let’s get down to what you want to hear about…the milkshake!

Review: Strictly Come Dancing Board Game

Excitement is mounting about the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. We know who our semi-finalists are, and now we know what dances they’ll do to what music. The competition is close and we can only guess who will be victoriously holding that glitterball trophy on Saturday 15th December.  Fortunately, once the final sequinned dress has left the stage at the grand final, the fun can still continue! The Strictly Come Dancing Board Game is a great game to play with all the family over Christmas to relinquish your post-Strictly blues.
