Collaborative Post¦ Alder Hey Children’s Charity raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. With 330,000 patients and families every year, they are the busiest children’s hospital in the UK. Being a Mum who has had a seriously ill baby in hospital, I am more appreciative than ever for the hospitals that take care of our little ones. As such, I am keen to show you the super cute collaboration between Alder Hey and Wongs Jewellers!
Oli Elephant
Even if you’re from the south of the country like me, you’re likely to recognise Oli Elephant. As the charity mascot, he’s instantly recognisable. He is the star of this special collection of jewellery with Liverpool based jewellers, Wongs. These beautiful pieces of jewellery are fantastic as gifts, or as a treat for yourself! Even better, 100% of profits made from the jewellery is donated back to Alder Hey Children’s Charity, helping to raise vital funds.
The range includes earrings, bracelets, a charm and cufflinks. Also available are necklaces and lapel pins in a choice of sterling silver or pink or blue enamel.
I have been gifted a beautiful sterling silver charm bracelet from Wongs. The quality is lovely, the Oli Elephant is so cute and it will go with just about any outfit! It also has an adjustable chain, so should fit most women.
Alder Hey
This year, Alder Hey have been focusing on mental health. In 2020, they have launched a £3 million appeal headed by Shirley Ballas, Head Judge of Strictly Come Dancing. 7 in 10 children with a mental health condition don’t get early enough intervention. As someone who suffered with anxiety and depression as a child, I completely agree that not enough is being done currently. To hear that Alder Hey are not only recognising this, but working on this project, is fantastic.
Of course, with the Coronavirus pandemic, this appeal is excellent timing. Understandably, the mental health team at Alder Hey have seen a big rise in referrals since lockdown began. The pandemic has also slowed down fundraising. However, they are hoping to have a new community mental health services and inpatient unit open next to the main hospital open in 2022!
Make sure you check out the Wongs collection on Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s website.
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post. I was gifted an Oli Elephant charm bracelet for the purpose of this post and social media promotion of this appeal.
