Last week was so grey, cloudy and misty, I felt I really couldn’t take it anymore. When the weather is so gloomy, I find that it really affects my mood. When I read in the news that it was the longest London had been without a single hour of sunshine for 8 years, I couldn’t say I was surprised. However, the sun finally made an appearance on Saturday and we grasped the opportunity to make the most of it!

Easter family fun at Hever Castle
A family day out has been overdue for ages now. We have been excited about visiting Hever Castle in Kent since the beginning of the year, when we first planned to visit during the Easter school holidays! Whilst it wasn’t quite the warm spring weather we’d hoped for, the rain fortunately stayed away for the duration of our visit. This lent itself to us fully enjoying the Lindt gold bunny hunt as we explored the beautiful gardens surrounding the castle!
26 years and 26 goals
Post contains sponsored links¦ Last week, I celebrated my 26th birthday. I can’t believe that this year, my husband and I have been together for a whole decade! I’m also very scared of how close I’m getting to the big three-oh. It feels like time has just flown terrifyingly fast since I left school.
Anyway, it seems like a good time to set some goals for the following year. So, why not do that cliché blogger thing and think of 26 as that’s how many years I’ve been on the planet?
A family day out at Sheffield Park
Sheffield Park in East Sussex is renowned for its beautiful autumn colours. I’d say it’s definitely one of the best places to see the autumn colours in the South East. A National Trust property, it boasts acres of landscaped gardens with park and woodland. October was a very busy month for us. I went back to work, I was under the weather for most of the month and it just generally seemed to whizz by. When we got to the beginning of this week, I realised that we hadn’t visited Sheffield Park.
Fortunately, I must have expressed this to my husband. On Thursday morning we went to drop off my car to the garage first thing. As he drove me back home through the country lanes, I gazed across the fog on the marshes and the gentle sunlight dancing on the frost in the fields. It was a beautiful morning made better by the fact that he then announced he’d taken the day off and was taking us to Sheffield Park!
Money saving tips for feeding the family
Feeding the family doesn’t have to be expensive or mean eating unhealthily. It can also be quick with the help of a microwave oven! I’ve previously written about some of the ways I like to save money when I’m in the supermarket. However, this time I’m focusing my money saving tips on feeding the family cheaply.
