Collaborative Post¦ Picture a normal family sedan. It’s 5-doors, not as long as a saloon but not as short as a hatchback. Now picture a 4×4 offroad car and mush them together. What you get is a car that’s known as a crossover. It’s not quite a hatchback although the shortened wheelbase is similar. It’s not a saloon or sedan but does have plenty of boot space. This new crossover type of car is also known as a hybrid because of this merger. It’s by far becoming the new family car because you have the best of both worlds. That begs the question what will happen to the hatchback and the standard non-luxury sedans? Well, if the crossover can continue to evolve it will force those two types to become more and more unique. They no longer fulfil the family duties as well as the crossover type, so now all eyes are on the types of cars that can. Let’s consider what a family needs in a vehicle.

Surviving a Road Trip with a Toddler
Collaborative Post¦ Holidays with young children can be beautiful. Most parents today work incredibly hard. We juggle jobs with keeping our homes clean, side hustles and social lives, on top of looking after our children. It can often feel as though life is passing us by. You might find that your children are growing up without you getting time to enjoy them. A holiday is your chance to stop. To take some time away from the stresses of home life and to enjoy your family. It’s an opportunity to spend quality time together, enjoying your little one’s quirks and passions, as well as tourist attractions, beaches and the occasional cocktail by the pool. It’s also a rare chance to see the world through a child’s eyes. As adults, we’re often a little grumpy. You might find travelling stressful, or find yourself annoyed by things like queues and the other less glamorous sides of holidaying. Kids don’t. They see the world with excitement and joy. They see only the pleasure in a new location, and they take everything in their stride. Letting yourself get carried away with their enthusiasm can allow you to see the world in a way that you haven’t for a long time. It’s amazing.
But, holidays can be expensive. Especially if you’ve got an older child and you are tied avoiding term-time breaks. Many young families can’t afford package holidays or exotic trips abroad. Some families go years without more than a few days away because they simply can’t afford the high costs of travelling as a family.

Why rear-facing car seats are the way forward
When Autumn turned 15 months old in January, we knew it was time for her to move out of her first car seat as she had reached its limit. From research I’d done when I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted her to be rear-facing for as long as possible. UK regulations now state that you must have your child in a rear-facing car seat until they’re 15 months. However, whether they change to forward-facing or not after that is your decision. I personally decided I want to keep her rear-facing as long as possible as, after scouring the internet reading numerous blogs and articles, I feel it is safer.
