Visiting Happy Kids Dental in Chelsea, London
Press Trip¦ On Saturday, we travelled up to London to visit Happy Kids Dental in Chelsea. Recently opened, following the success of their Marylebone premises which opened in 2017, we were there to learn about what they do as well as celebrating World Oral Health Day. Taking place on 20th March every year, 2019’s theme was “Act on mouth health”. As you will see, Happy Kids Dental is a fantastic place which will really encourage and teach children to look after their mouths while they’re having fun!
Raising awareness of laryngeal cancer
From time to time, I like to use my blog to spread awareness of health issues and charities. In fact, I started it to share my story of Autumn’s ovarian cyst at 2 weeks old and my subsequent anxiety. I felt it was important to help others in a similar situation to feel they weren’t alone. This time, I’m spreading awareness of larynx cancer.
A victim of period-based taboo?
On Saturday night, I was scrolling on Facebook when I saw a headline that angered me: “Girl sat in blood-soaked clothes after teacher said she couldn’t go to the toilet”. This story on Metro evoked powerful memories of being a teenage girl. I’d worry, thinking “What do I do if my period starts at school?” Once I’d started menstruating, I worried about being allowed to leave class should I need to, or worse, leaking.
