It’s been absolutely ages since I last wrote about Autumn’s favourite books. She still absolutely adores books, so much so that a few months ago I bought a small bookshelf for our living room. As it’s at such a low height, she can get her books herself and look through them independently or ask us to read them. Although her vocabulary obviously doesn’t extend that far, being 13 months old, she waves the book at one of us and makes a noise! Although she looks at all of them, she has some definite favourites at the moment. View Post
This Sunday I’m reviewing a hexagonal teething necklace from Bo&Bel. Autumn has been teething since around the time she turned 3 months old in December and at almost 6 months, she has now reached that age where everything within reach goes in her mouth! I’ve been crushing on Bo&Bel‘s teething jewellery for quite some time, so when the opportunity to arose to review a necklace I gladly accepted the opportunity! View Post
Inspired by World Book Day tomorrow, (2nd March 2017), I thought I’d write about some of the books Autumn has in her collection or has borrowed from the library. Since Autumn was only a 6 week old baby, I’ve been buying and reading books to her often.
It’s never too early to start reading to babies, as it helps them to learn and it’s another activity you can do to help develop their senses. To begin with, black and white books are best as they can’t see especially clearly and they enjoy looking at the contrast. As they get to a couple of months old, they start to pay more attention to bright colours. As a 5 month old, Autumn now absolutely loves books, especially if they’re brightly coloured! She really looks at them and interacts with them by touching them and trying to hold them. Sometimes she even tries to turn the pages by herself!
Autumn seems to have three favourite books currently:
A few weeks ago on Twitter, the Conscious Parent Company were asking for parent bloggers who would like to try and review the award-winning Bambo Nature Nappies. I’m not a huge fan of using disposable nappies, but struggle to fit reusable cloth nappies into my daily life (as lovely as they are). As these nappies are eco-friendly disposable nappies, they’re somewhere between the two, so I jumped at the chance! View Post
During my pregnancy we didn’t really go out and have dates to make the most of our time as a couple before Autumn arrived. This was because I just felt bad in one way or another throughout the whole pregnancy! Autumn is now almost 5 months old and we felt as though it might be time we went on our first post-baby date night. Knowing that my mum was going to be off work due to half term, we asked my parents if they would be able to look after her one evening for us. View Post
