Book Reviews: Growing Pains & Where The Heart Is

Gifted¦ I have recently been sent two lovely books to read with Autumn that I’d like to share with you all. These are Where The Heart Is by Irma Gold and Susannah Crispe and Growing Pains by Alison McLennan and Melissa Johns. Introducing Your Children To Music

Collaborative Post¦ There are a lot of small pleasures in life, but introducing your children to music for the very first time is one of them that you don’t want to miss out on. Music is a great way to not only connect with children, but to allow their imaginations to start turning over from a young age, no matter how old they are. Newborns benefit from soothing music and as they get older, they benefit from a range of music types that will enable them to dance, find their own rhythm and introduce them to a world of sound.

A boy can play with a girls toy and vice versa. But older children especially can be difficult. Firstly they don’t tend to give you any ideas or clues as to what they would like. Secondly, a lot of things tend to cost the earth. Thankfully as they get older, they will realise what things cost so you can pick and choose between some of the times.

Whether it is Christmas, a birthday or even to celebrate a specific occasion, you may be wondering what to get your tween or teen. Sometimes you want to think practically as well as giving them an option of some of the things they want. But, if they haven’t given you any ideas, then don’t despair. Collaborative Post¦ Making any move is about preparing yourself properly. And when it comes to making all that preparation work for you, it can easily be undone by the children. That’s not to say that they are doing it on purpose. But kids will be kids!
