At the end of last year, I was talking to a couple of my best friends about make up. I happened to mention that despite always loving the look of Urban Decay products, I’d never owned any. A couple of weeks later, I received a gorgeous Cath Kidston make up bag, an Urban Decay glitter eyeliner and this Vice Lipstick Palette from her for my birthday. To say I was delighted would be an understatement! I’ve now been using this palette almost daily since January, so I thought I’d write up a little review of it. View Post
The main focus of the last few days has, of course, been the snow. We’ve had lots of it here in Kent and the roads have been quite unsafe. As such, we haven’t managed to get out Mother’s Day shopping yet. I’m sure many of you are in the same boat. However, it’s creeping up fast as Mother’s Day is now only next weekend on Sunday 11th March! Here’s some gift ideas – most of which you can buy online to save you going out in the ice and cold weather. View Post
Revamp your workwear wardrobe
How we dress ourselves for work differs drastically depending on our personal style and workplace environment. Even over the past few years, workwear has transformed, and it seems so strange to think that the workplace was once filled with formal suits, smart blouses and an almost exclusively monochrome colour palette.
Trends — such as after-work socialising — have influenced what we accept as standard workplace attire. However, while this is great for giving us more fashion freedom, it isn’t without its difficulties. Go too casual and you risk an awkward chat with your manager about appropriateness, while a formal outfit may look like you’re over-dressing to your colleagues.

As someone who has suffered from cystic acne from the age of 13, I’ve tried out loads of skin products over the years. I’ve always hoped to find that holy grail product and had some luck with various acids. However, when it comes to cleansers, toners and moisturisers, I’ve finally come to realise that nothing is probably going to help that much. Over the last few months, I’ve been trying out some Skintifique products without using anything else to see what happened. With scientific backing, claims to keep out pollution and metals and the promise to be kind to sensitive skin, these products were something different for me to try.
It’s the same story for my hands every winter. They get dry, crack, bleed and sting every time I wash them or use hand cream. This has only got worse since becoming a mother! Now, a new survey has shown that dry skin on hands ages them by an average of 9 years. Some hands were even ‘perceived to be 47 years older than their true age’. Meanwhile, healthy hands were ‘perceived to be younger than their actual age 56% of the time’. View Post
