How To Feel 15 Years Younger (With What You Wear)

Collaborative Post¦ Once you become a mum, the world around you seems to change. It’s never quite the same as it was before.

But, strangely, there are ways to turn back the clock. You can look and feel younger, especially by changing what you wear.

But what should you be doing exactly? How can you go back in time and rediscover that youthful spirit that once possessed you?

Play With Colour

You’ll want to start by playing with color. When you were younger, your wardrobe was probably rich and vibrant; now, everything’s grey and black.

However, you can quickly turn this around. Neutrals might be safe, but playing with pops of color can dramatically adjust how others see you and even how you see yourself.

Therefore, don’t go for muted tones. See if there are any bright colors that suit you, like orange or green.

Try A Modern Fit

Another way to turn back the clock is to try a modern fit. Instead of buying the usual baggy clothes made for the average person, you pick something that’s meant for you.

These days, you don’t have to go to a tailor either (although that’s usually the best approach). Instead, you can sharpen your silhouette by picking stretchy or body-hugging clothing that molds to your contours, just how you want it to.

You could also try rocking statement accessories. These stand out.

One option is to get a nose piercing. These days, you can buy unique septum rings here, there and everywhere.

Another idea is to wear a leather bracelet or new sunglasses. You want something that is going to make you stand out and that people will associate with you. Once you have this sort of look, it is something you can turn into a kind of personal brand that goes everywhere with you, no matter what you do.

Layer Like A Pro

While it might sound strange, layering like a pro is also an excellent way to feel much younger. Instead of wearing the same old cardigan all the time, you mix and match everything so that it makes sense.

For example, you could start on the outer layer with a lightweight blazer or a bomber jacket. Then you could add some additional layers underneath, like an undershirt.

Ultimately, it’s up to you how you arrange things, as long as you do. That’s what counts.

Be Confident

It might sound clichéd, but confidence is probably the ultimate fashion accessory. Wearing your clothes and accessories with pride can automatically make you feel younger. And while you might not be able to recreate the feeling of being 23 again, you could get close.

Wear Sneakers

Lastly, if you want to feel young again, make sure that you wear sneakers. Find shoes that keep you buoyant and youthful instead of bringing you down. These can give you a sense of being cool while also allowing you to walk and run wherever you want.

Sneakers these days work well with most outfits, so try them.
