I love fashion, but am notoriously picky when it comes to accessories. If my mum wants to buy me a handbag for Christmas, for instance, she’ll ask me to send her a list of ones I do like. It’s a similar story when it comes to jewellery. When an email arrived in my inbox from Muru jewellery I went to have a peek at their site, sceptical about whether there were many pieces I would like. So, what was my verdict?

3 things in 15 minutes to feel more “you”, less “mum”
As wonderful as motherhood is, a lot does change and that takes some adjusting to! I often find myself putting on the same combinations of jeans and t-shirts or jumpers each day. Once I’ve finished work, I slap on some concealer and foundation, quickly put a brush through my hair and rush off to collect Autumn from her childminder. With all the additional things to do in my daily life, I’ve definitely not taken care of myself as much. I’ve been meaning to paint my nails for weeks now, but they’re still bare. Does this sound like you?
It’s so important as mums to give ourselves a bit of self care, in whatever form that comes. This post is about 3 things I do to feel a bit more like “myself” in 15 minutes and hopefully it will inspire you too! After all, surely 15 minutes is achievable every once in a while?
Review: Esqido Gin & Tonic Lashes
I’ve been a big fan of false eyelashes for years now. Occasionally I wear them in the day, but I mostly wear them for a special occasion or if I’m going out somewhere. With some lashes, I feel a little too aware that I’m wearing them and sometimes they look too much or too little. When Esqido approached me to try out some of their lashes, I was intrigued. With celebrity fans including Rihanna and Victoria’s Secret angels including Gigi Hadid, I had to see what all the fuss was about.
My Sephora haul from New York City
Over Christmas and New Year, my sister-in-law went on holiday to New York. She asked us if there was anything we wanted. As a make up lover, my first thought was “OMG, SEPHORA!” and I transferred her some money. We used to have a Sephora at Bluewater in Kent, but that closed years ago. It was an amazing smelling shop with red carpets and I live in hope that one day Sephora will come back to the UK. In the meantime, the products my lovely sister-in-law picked me up will have to tide me over! To my amazement, she picked up everything I asked for (except for one thing that was out of stock) AND surprised me with another palette I’d wanted for my birthday! Anyway, that’s enough teasing. Let’s take a peek!
Molly Brown – children’s jewellery to be treasured
Autumn loves borrowing my husband‘s bracelet and trying it on. She absolutely delights in putting it on and looking at it. As such, when Molly Brown approached me to review a piece of their beautiful children’s jewellery, I knew a bracelet would be the perfect choice. Just from browsing through the website, you get a good feel of the quality that they deliver. There are gorgeous choices for everyday wear or special events such as christenings or holy communions. I opted for the Her Love Bangle, which allows for the middle three hearts to be personalised with the child’s initials and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive!
