I love fashion, but am notoriously picky when it comes to accessories. If my mum wants to buy me a handbag for Christmas, for instance, she’ll ask me to send her a list of ones I do like. It’s a similar story when it comes to jewellery. When an email arrived in my inbox from Muru jewellery I went to have a peek at their site, sceptical about whether there were many pieces I would like. So, what was my verdict?

Muru Jewellery

Well, take a look for yourself! For once when browsing a jewellery site, almost everything is to my taste. It’s modern jewellery that is well made and designed in London. You can choose from silver, gold or rose gold and everything has a message behind it. With mandalas, star sign pieces and jewellery inspired by nature, these are pieces that are sure to be loved for years in spite of their contemporary feel. Everything has a feel good vibe and is “designed to promote positivity and wellbeing in different aspects of your life”.

Beautifully wrapped, Muru jewellery makes a wonderful gift. Each piece even comes with a talisman card, telling the recipient about the meaning behind the piece. Celebrities spotted wearing Muru include supermodel Jourdan Dunn, presenter Caroline Flack and actress Zooey Deschanel. These ladies clearly have good taste!

My Constellation

The star sign necklaces come in all three metals previously mentioned (silver, gold or rose gold) and you have the option of smooth or hammered. I chose hammered as I thought the texture added a little extra to it. Also, with a toddler around, I didn’t want to constantly have to wipe finger prints off of the smooth one! There is the choice of an 18″, 20″ or 26″ chain. Mine is 18″ and it goes well with both smart and casual outfits. I am very pleased with my Capricorn necklace and love the extra touch of “Capricorn” engraved on the reverse. These would make a wonderful birthday gift.

The card that comes with it describes a Capricorn’s best traits:“She is strong, loving and independent. For a Capricorn, there is nothing more important than family and friends.” A gorgeous piece of jewellery and compliments – what more could you want for your birthday?!

Mandalas

There are a couple of designs of mandalas for Health & Happiness. I chose a silver choker, as I liked the mandala more as a choker than a longer length necklace. I like chokers with t-shirts and tops with higher necklines.

With a pair of matching earrings, the look is complete.

Again, these could be worn with casual or smart clothing and they come in different metals. The card that came with the necklace says “The Mandala is a sacred symbol that represented the circle of life & the universe. They are thought to encourage unity & harmony in our daily lives”. I really like the meaning behind it. I could certainly do with some more harmony in my day to day life!
