Review (Gifted)¦ CARAT* London bring a touch of glamour and sparkle to every outfit and have a number of celebrity fans. Better yet, they only use sustainable alternatives to mined gemstones. When I’m buying things for our family, I try to make sure as much of it is ethically made as possible. It’s great to know that these values are important to CARAT* too. Recently, I was sent their beautiful Carissa necklace to review.
First impressions
My Carissa tennis necklace is gold vermeil, but it also comes in sterling silver. It arrived in a luxurious white box, perfect for gifting. When I opened the box, it took me a moment to realise that the gemstones were cubic zirconias and not real diamonds. They really catch the light!
It’s stunning and will go with more casual outfits as well as formal eveningwear. It would even suit a bride! However, I personally wouldn’t recommend it for everyday wear as the chain is quite delicate, although it perfectly suits this dainty piece of jewellery. If you’re careful you probably could, but I have a grabby toddler! It feels very well made and is a really elegant and classy necklace that should stand the test of time. It’s also very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Versatility
The Carissa necklace is without a doubt the most versatile necklace I own. It can be worn layered with other necklaces, or on its own. You can wear it as long as you’d like to (up to 70cm) or as short as you want. This means it looks great with any outfit. Plus, the slider clasp is so much easier to use and adjust than usual clasps.
It looks absolutely stunning too as it has more gems giving it sparkle! I was astonished when I took it out to wear and saw just how beautiful it was. The clasp really gives it some je ne sais quoi that makes it stand out from other necklaces. It’s rare that you find a necklace that will look just as good at the back as it does at the front. It will look so gorgeous with backless dresses!
