Luxurious 30 minute Nap Time Spa Routine

Sponsored Post¦ Being a Mama is stressful. It’s hard work and can often feel like you don’t receive much gratitude from your tiny humans for keeping them fed, dressed and warm. Therefore, I’m inviting you to reclaim nap time with me. Once a week or fortnight make sure you take the time and use it for yourself without guilt. Don’t worry about the dishes or cleaning, they can wait. When you’ve been working hard for so long, half an hour of self-care can make such a difference. Hopefully this spa routine at home will make you feel refreshed and ready to take on whatever life throws at you after naptime!

Shopping List

There are a few things you’ll need for your home spa experience, although you may have some or all of these already!

  • A soft bath robe
  • Bubble bath or a bath bomb
  • Strawberries
  • Chocolate (milk, white or dark, depending on your preferences)
  • A face mask (the beauty kind, not the type of face mask we’re used to thinking of since the pandemic)
  • Fast-drying nail varnish
  • A nail file

Timeline

Once you’ve put your baby or toddler down for a nap, go, go, GO!

0-5 minutes: Start running a bath. If you’re using bubble bath, drizzle in a decent amount. Put on some relaxing music. While the bath is running, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20-30 second bursts. Decant it into another bowl (you don’t want to burn yourself). Wash the strawberries and pop them into another bowl.

5 minutes in: Stop running the bath and get in. Put on your face mask. If you’re using a bath bomb, place it into the bath and watch the colours and aromas burst out. Otherwise, lay back and relax, feeling the warm water envelope your tired and aching body. Enjoy dipping the strawberries in chocolate and eating them. Make sure you focus on the textures and flavour, don’t let your mind wander to your worries or things you need to do.

10 minutes in: Set a timer for 10 minutes of meditation. You can do this by yourself if you’re used to mindfulness and/or meditation. Otherwise, you use a guided meditation on YouTube or a similar service. (You may wish to look through these in advance).

20 minutes in: Hopefully you’re feeling revitalised now! Remove your face mask and feel how soft your skin is. Enjoy a minute or so of just being, helping yourself to more strawberries.

23 minutes in: Step out of the bath and get yourself dry. Slip into your bath robe. Something always feels so satisfying about putting on a fluffy bath robe at a spa or after a relaxing bath or shower!

26 minutes in: File your toenails if necessary. Paint them using your 60 second nail varnish.

…And that’s your 30 minutes up! Doesn’t that feel so much better?

If your little one is still asleep, that’s a huge bonus. Take this opportunity to have a cup of tea or hot chocolate in your favourite mug, ensuring you don’t smudge your toenails as you make your way to the kettle.
