Collaborative Post¦ As the seasons change and vary, so do our health and beauty needs, so I’ve put together a list of brilliant health and beauty tips to help you look and feel your best this spring season into the summer.

  1. Drink more water

As the temperature (hopefully) starts to rise, you’re going to want to think about increasing your water intake. Not only will this help to ensure that you stay well hydrated, and avoid any nasty headaches, but it will also help you to maintain a plump, clear complexion too. If you need a bit of extra help, products from Beverly Hills MD can help to revitalise your skin, although water is still super important!

  1. Shower before you swim

If you’re going to be doing a lot more swimming in the spring and summer season, you really should take a look at these hair care tips for swimmers and athletes, which are just as applicable to the average person. One of the best tips they give is to shower your hair before you swim. This helps to prevent chlorine or salt water from damaging your hair, which means you can keep your locks looking good all season long.

  1. Use sunscreen

If you’re going out in the hours of daylight, make sure you’re sporting at least an SPF30 sunscreen or foundation. This will help to protect your skin from harmful UV rays which can cause cancer, and less importantly, cause signs of premature ageing such as fine line, wrinkles and age spots. It can be tempting to go SPF-free for that perfect tan, but your skin won’t thank you for it, and in the end, it will do more harm than good.

  1. Get outdoors

Spring tends to bring a positive change in the weather, which means getting outdoors and spending time in the countryside, park or at the beach becomes a much more attractive option. That’s great news because, the more time you spend outdoors, the more you will benefit from the therapeutic properties of nature.

Spending time in nature can do everything from lowering your blood pressure and stress levels to boosting your immune system. It can also give you a healthy glow that you just won’t get from sitting indoors streaming Netflix or staring at your phone all day. So, it’s a vital part of both your health and beauty regime when you think about it.

  1. Add some liquid bronzer

If you want to get that healthy glow that all the celebs seem to have, but you can’t afford to fly off to St Tropez (if that will even be allowed) and you want to ensure that you treat your skin as safely as possible, one good trick is to add a little liquid bronzer to you usual foundation, It’ll give you that pretty spring glow without any of the effort.

  1. Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables

Spring is the perfect time to lighten your diet and make a few healthy changes, There are so many great seasonal fruits and vegetables, from spring greens and spring onions to rhubarb and strawberries available locally at great prices that you can eat exceptionally well in the UK in spring.

As well as being great for your health, spring fruits and vegetables are packed with healthy antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that will help to give your skin a youthful glow and prevent the premature signs of ageing. Salads really are a beauty essential!

  1. Balayage is best

If you want to achieve that natural sunkissed look for your hair this spring, consider balayage, which is a technique where hair dye is not applied to the whole head but painted on to only parts of the hair in such a way that it mimics natural hair colour. It tends to look less stripey than other forms of dye, and you can much more easily achieve the natural spring lightening look that you’re aiming for.

  1. Take up meditation

Spring is a great time to renew your body and mind, so why not take up meditation? This simple practice will help you to calm your busy mind and find a little peace in the day. Not only is that great news for your mental health, but since stress can cause various skin issues including breakouts, aggravation of existing conditions like rosacea, and various other skin rashes, it will help you to look your best this season too. Om.

  1. Spring clean your makeup bag

So many of us hold on to our old makeup for way past its sell-by date. This may not seem like a big problem if it’s still giving you the results you require, but think about how many germs are likely to be on that mascara brush and you’ll soon see the problem. Old makeup can cause infections and that’s never a good look. So, throw out anything that’s out of date and make an effort to clean your makeup brushes and any other accessories you use each day. Also, enlarging your makeup portfolio is easy and fun, especially during the spring.  Whether you try out a new foundation, highlighter, or other product, there are plenty of options to experiment with. If you’re looking for a more long-term solution without having to reapply mascara every day, easy DIY lash extensions are a great option. They come in different styles and shapes that can be tailored to your own preference, making them the perfect choice for people who love to switch up their looks frequently.

  1. Go lighter

As the days get lighter, so should your makeup. Heavy, dark makeup can look great in the doom and gloom of the cold winter months, but when spring comes around, it’s time to go for something a little fresher. Choose a natural-looking foundation and lighter, brighter colours like pink, coral and orange for elsewhere.

  1. Go lighter again

As well as your makeup, this spring, you may also want to transition to a lighter, fresher smelling perfume too. Spring is a great time to wear light citrusy aromas or subtle floral scents that will uplift you and everyone who gets close enough to smell your perfume.

  1. Pastel your polish

Pastel nail polish and spring go hand in hand. They just do. If you have a pastel manicure, it shows the world that you’re spring ready, so be sure to update the nail polish as soon as possible.

  1. Get a pedicure

It’s sandal season, so be sure to get a pedicure. As well as ensuring your feet look good nude, it will help you to maintain good foot health too.

You’re going to look great this spring!
