Collaborative Post¦ Your wedding day is going to be a day you want to remember for all of the right reasons. It’s probably going to be one of the biggest expenses of your whole life, too – so you want to make sure you look your best! When you look your best, you’ll be able to focus on enjoying the day, rather than worrying about what your hair is doing or whether you’re wearing too much makeup for the photographs.
The secrets below will help you to ensure you look your absolute best on your wedding day. Take a look and you’ll feel better prepared as your big day approaches:
Unless you’re a pro at doing your hair and makeup and you’re confident it’s all going to go exactly as planned, you should probably fork out a little so you can have a professional do them. This will give you a couple less things to worry about, and it’ll ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible on your big day. Having trials will be even better, because you can then try out a few different hairstyles and decide on the one you want for definite, as well as get a feel for what makeup you’d like on the day. Remember, makeup will show up differently in professional pictures. For instance, wearing too much eye makeup could make your eyes look really small in the pictures, so working with an artist who has helped brides before is ideal.
Check out portfolios and find the right people for you. They aren’t all created equal!
Look after your health and it’ll show in the way your hair shines and your skin glows. Do this as far in advance as you can so that the results can really be seen on the day. Get some exercise, drink plenty of water, and eat your vegetables. Don’t underestimate the importance of sleep, either!
On your wedding day it’s normal to be plied with different alcoholic drinks – however, it would be wise for you to hold off on drinks for a little while. At least until the pictures are done! With all the excitement of the day, it can be all too easy to drink too much without realizing it. Not only will you feel rubbish the next day, you may end up ruining your dress and looking a little worse for wear on the pictures.
There’s a fine line between looking elegant and garish when you wear too much jewelry. Along with your engagement and wedding diamond rings, you might want a dainty bracelet, and either a necklace or earrings. Don’t wear everything at once!
Don’t be afraid to put your own spin on the look. What’s your regular style? See if you can incorporate it!
Don’t underestimate the power of breathing on the day. The more you relax, the better you will look.
