Choosing Vinyl Over Hardwood

Collaborative Post¦ Why would anyone choose a product such as luxury vinyl flooring over hardwood flooring? Are there enough positives to make vinyl a much more effective flooring solution?

Among the biggest selling points of vinyl flooring tiles and planks is that, unlike hardwood, vinyl such as Luvanto Flooring, is waterproof, less expensive and easier to install. It is also effective in areas where hardwood is not, such as its effectiveness in wet areas such as bathrooms and laundry rooms –  as well as being suitable for everywhere in the house.

It looks great, is easier to install by yourself and is relatively easy to remove if you plan on remodelling your home.

Installation

Whilst more complex installations may require hiring a professional fitter, vinyl flooring products are a relatively painless exercise due to their click-and-lock edges. Those wanting a side project can simply unpack and get to install, with no requirement for sanding, coating and curing.

Self-installation is great in further reducing your costs against your budget for the home, as an hourly rate for a professional fitter can get quite expensive.

Care

Luvanto luxury vinyl flooring is the easiest product to keep clean and healthy for prolonged periods. Anyone can find a quick 5 minutes to sweep and vacuum a floor on any given day.

When mopping your floor, all you need to consider is not soaking your floor with water. Although vinyl planks and tiles are 100 per cent waterproof, they can still suffer from larger amounts of water occupying the surface. It can also be pierced or gouged by dropped knives or scissors. The scratch resistance can only do so much if you have furniture without coasters – we recommend felt pads on the feet of any furniture to reduce scratching from any furniture shifts.

If you have a family member who uses a wheelchair, your best recommendation would be to use vinyl tile instead of hardwood or vinyl planks.

Safety

Naturally, every kind of product warrants some safety requirements and precautions. Whilst vinyl flooring such as glue down vinyl flooring, is recommended for homes with underfloor heating, you’ll need to know what limits the flooring can withstand. Even if it doesn’t melt, it can still be impacted by the heat that it receives.

Be sure that whatever vinyl flooring you choose, you find out every piece of information from the supplier in safeguarding the product for its maximum lifespan. When cared for properly, LVT is a cheaper, simpler and more attractive product than hardwood flooring that gives as much as it gets.
