Collaborative Post¦ Summer babies are like a match made in heaven. There’s something really special about having a baby when the sun is shining and everything feels more relaxed, However, if you’re having a summer baby, there are a few things you’re going to want to ensure you have ready…

A breathable cot mattress

Babies can overheat really easily, so if you want to keep yours safe, and ensure they have the best chance of getting a good night’s sleep, you’re going to want to buy a breathable cot mattress, which will allow the air to circulate and spread your baby’s body heat more evenly. Also, if your baby or toddler has outgrown their bed, consider a children’s mattress with the same breathable and non-toxic qualities.

A parasol

If you’re going to be getting out there to show your baby off in his or her pram, then you need to take a look at some of the Venicci brand products that will help protect them from the sun, namely their baby parasol products that will provide your child with shade and help to prevent them from getting sunstroke or being harmed by the sun’s rays.

Muslin sleep bags

Sleep bags are great for swaddling your baby and making him or her feel more safe, calm and secure, but in the summer, they can get a bit hot. That’s where muslin sleep bags come in – they’re very light and allow the air to circulate more effectively, which means you can achieve the same calming results without allowing your baby to overheat.

A mosquito net

If you live somewhere where insects can be a pest – and let’s face it most of us do – having a mosquito nest or two to place over car seats, prams and maybe even cots is a really sensible idea to protect your baby from insect bites. The alternative would be staying indoors with all the doors and windows closed and that would be just miserable in summer!

A pram fan

If the weather gets really hot, then investing in a pram fan, that can be connected directly to the bars of the pram may be a good idea, It will help to really keep your baby cool by clowning a constant, but gentles stream of cool air around them. These are battery-powered and typically have a long life, which makes them perfect for long days on the beach.

A baby bottle cooler

If you’re going to be heading out for fun days at the park, beach, local woodland, or whatever, then having a baby bottle cooler bag may be a good idea if you are bottle feeding, as it will help to keep your baby’s food perfectly insulted until they’re ready to drink, and in the summer months, they may need to drink more because they need to stay hydrated.

A sun hat

Sun hats or bandanas are really important for keeping the sun on your babies head/face and helping to keep them cool, and lucky for you, they come in so many cute styles and colours that you’re sure to have some fun choosing them.

Enjoy your summer baby!
