8 Small Beauty Changes That Can Make A Huge Difference

Collaborative Post¦ While self-care is so important — especially if you have little kids around — but it can be one of the first things that get dropped when you’re busy. It can make such a difference to your mood and your outlook — that’s where this list comes in. Beauty changes and little cosmetic treats sit under the umbrella of self-care. So, check out this list of eight small changes that you can make that have the power to make a real difference.

  1. Invisible braces

They are all the rage — and for good reason. Invisible braces are a simple, and often affordable, way to get the perfect smile without having unattractive metal braces glued to your teeth. There are some businesses that let you go straight through them, so you don’t even have to wait for a dentist appointment!

  1. Probiotics

If you suffer from problem skin — be it acne or dullness — you could really benefit from adding probiotics to your diet. They work to introduce good bacteria to your gut and helping to reduce inflammation from the outside in.

  1. Gua sha

This ancient Chinese method of massage can also be applied to the face — choose from beautiful (often jade or rose quartz) tools and follow guides to glide them across your skin. Not only is it meant to aid lymphatic drainage, it feels lovely and it’s very calming.

  1. Daily movement

Getting your body moving, your heart pumping and those endorphins going wouldn’t typically go on the list for beauty changes — but it can make such a difference to your day/week/life/month that it had to stay on. Getting moving every day can make you feel so much better, so you will look so much better.

  1. Double cleanse

It’s exactly what it says it is — by cleansing your face twice, you can be sure you’ve removed all of your make-up and any daily dirt that might build up on your face properly. Start with a face cleansing balm to melt away your makeup, then use a water-based cleanser for the second cleanse. It will reduce the likelihood of breakouts and makes sure the products that you put on in the evening have a chance of sinking in.

  1. Exfoliate

Learning to exfoliate with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) can give you a glow that you might not get from manual exfoliation. By getting all the dead skin cells off, your face will feel fresher and you’ll reduce the likelihood of breakouts.

  1. Use sunscreen

UV rays are the main reason for wrinkles and sun spots, so applying daily suncream can make a huge difference. While it might not be able to reverse any effects, it can help stop wrinkles from appearing quickly!

  1. Sleep on your back

Now, this may sound mad, but sleeping on your front can cause acne and excess wrinkles as your face is pushed into a pillow. By sleeping on your back, you can reduce friction and make sure you don’t rub off your carefully applied products.

Hopefully, this list has given you a few ideas of little changes to make to your beauty regime.
