10 reasons to take a spa break in the UK

Collaborative Post¦ I think it would be fair to say that this has been a tough year for everyone. We could all do with a bit of escapism! With that in mind, a spa break in the UK would be a fantastic way for you to relax and unwind, losing all those tensions. Whether you go alone, with a partner or friends, there are lots of benefits to taking a spa break. Let’s take a look at some of them.

1. Mindfulness

Having spa treatments takes you away from the stresses of your daily life. This allows you to just focus on yourself and the here and now.

2. Relieves stress

Taking a break from daily life and enjoying relaxing treatments helps to melt away any stress from both your mind and body. The soothing environments with their soft lighting, tranquil décor and aromatherapy scents will have you feeling calmer before your treatment has even begun!

3. Feeling refreshed

Taking a step back and relaxing will help you to feel refreshed and invigorated when you return from your break. You may feel reinvigorated and inspired to tackle your usual stresses in a different, more positive way!

4. Increasing happiness

Getting to refocus on yourself increases your happiness and as previously mentioned, may help you to view life more positively even when things do get stressful! It’s important to give yourself this time to unwind, as it is not good for you to live life feeling stressed all the time in any respect. It is well documented that stress can have a real impact on both your mental and physical health.

5. Increasing confidence

A happier you is a more confident you! Not only will a revitalised attitude have you walking with a pep in your step, but spa treatments will make you feel more confident too. Who doesn’t feel so much better with their body after a great massage or facial?

6. Improved sleep

Of course, stress is a big factor in causing bad sleep quality. Even just a couple of days at a spa can help you to fall asleep easier and have a better night’s sleep. This will make you feel less groggy and tired during the day, which will in turn also help you to feel happier and less stressed.

7. Opportunity to detox

Unlike a lot of holidays where you eat rich foods and drink in excess, spa breaks help to promote caring for your body with a healthier way of life. Along with treatments, healthy food and drink will have you feeling much brighter and perhaps kick start some lifestyle changes when you get home.

8. Help physical ailments

A number of spa treatments will help physical problems you may have. From facials to help acne and other skin problems, to heat and ice treatments to help muscles, there is something to suit everyone.

9. Suitable in colder months

Even as we head into winter, spa breaks in the UK are still suitable to take. As we’re used to inclement weather, most treatments take place inside anyway. The only exception might be an outdoor hot tub – and personally, I think there’s something extra relaxing about being in a hot tub outside when it’s dark and cold!

10. No need to go abroad

Travelling can be stressful, so not having as far to come back from a break could help you to keep hold of your post-spa chill for longer. Not only that, but with a UK spa break there’s no need to worry about passport renewal and travel insurance or Covid-19 travel bans spoiling your fun. Plus, it can be cheaper than going abroad for a holiday!

With all that in mind, I will definitely be taking a look at booking a luxurious spa break in the UK on the Voyage Privé website. Modern lifestyles are stressful and we all deserve a good pampering!
