What Should Every Wedding Have?

Collaborative Post¦ There’s nothing better than planning a wedding, although it is, of course, stressful. Indeed, there’s been a surge in ‘Bridezilla’ stories in recent years; they’re the brides who begin to act unreasonably because they want every inch of their wedding to be perfect. They’re called out on their behavior because it’s not fair to take out your stress on other people, which is often what happens, but also because in making a mountain out of every molehill, they’re complicating the situation. Weddings only need to have a few simple ingredients in order to be successful. Below, we take a look at a few things that every wedding should have. If you have these, then you’ll be on your way to a great day!

The People You Love

It’s all about the people. While a wedding is believed to be primarily about the bride and the groom, is that really what it’s about, when it comes to the big day? Not really. It’s the guests who make it. If you assemble a crack team of bona fide lovely, fun people, then that’s just what the day will be. The politics of the wedding invite list can be a little annoying, sure, but as a general rule, go with this: do we love them, will they bring good vibes? Done.

Your Personality

You can take the Hollywood wedding route if you like and people will, for sure, have a magical day — but are you a Hollywood person? There is no right or wrong theme for a wedding day, only your theme. It’s best to build up your wedding from the ground up, and sprinkle it with your personality every step of the way. The other path is to try to intersperse your personality on a cookie-cutter wedding — it doesn’t work so well!

The Fun

What is a wedding but a celebration of life? Now’s the opportunity to go big on the fun and good times, so don’t hold back. From the venue to the music to the honeymoons that follow, there are plenty of ways to make your wedding an event that’ll live long in the memory. For the party, look at hiring a live band and a DJ who knows how to keep people on the dance floor all night. For your honeymoon: what’s the dream, what will you and your partner love? Life may never be this indulgent again, so treat yourself to that once in a lifetime trip.

The Love

Finally, let’s not forget the love, which is the center of everything. You’ll be stressed or nervous in the run-up to your big day, but never forget the reason why you’ve gone through all the trouble: the love that is shared between you and your partner. If you keep that at the forefront of all that you do, then you’ll find that the stress never gets too bad, and although that the day is full of those squishy, loving moments that has everyone walking away with love in their hearts. Aw.
