Review: Shaken Udder’s Mootastic Milkshakes

I was aware of Shaken Udder’s milkshakes for a good couple of years before I met them at a local blogging convention last autumn. The fun cartoon cows on the bottles were what drew me to them first. However, the more I learn about the company and these milkshakes, the more I love them! If you’re a long-term reader of my blog, you’ll know that I enjoy supporting local businesses. As these guys are only an hour up the road from me, across the Thames in Essex, it just adds to their appeal for me. Anyway, that’s enough of my waffling. Let’s get down to what you want to hear about…the milkshake!

Milkshake Flavours

Shaken Udder are THE freshest tasting milkshakes on the supermarket shelves! Made with British milk, there are currently 5 delicious flavours to choose from:

  • Chocolush!
  • Vanillalicious!
  • Salted Caramel
  • Top Banana!
  • Strawberries & Clotted Cream

Shaken Udder Milkshake Flavours

It’s really difficult to choose a favourite, as they’re all so delicious. The Chocolush! is made with real Belgian chocolate and is wonderfully smooth. If you’re more in the mood for a hot drink, you can warm it up for 30 seconds in the microwave for a tasty hot chocolate.

If you’ve also got Salted Caramel to hand, why not add a little of that for a luxurious salted caramel hot chocolate?  Alternatively, add to your latte for a yummy treat. Salted Caramel has been a big flavour in the food industry over the last couple of years – and for good reason! Made with Maldon Sea Salt, this one is my favourite. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and smooth with a touch of salt to play with your tastebuds.

Vanillalicious! meanwhile, is exactly what it says on the bottle. Before you even open it, you can see vanilla seeds throughout it. Vanilla can often be boring, but this is anything but.

Top Banana! contains real bananas and tastes super fresh. Meanwhile, Strawberries & Clotted Cream contains Rodda’s Clotted Cream. This clotted cream is the best and I refuse to have anything but on my Cornish cream tea!

The creaminess of the milkshake is gorgeous and moreish. These two fruity shakes are both like a sip of summer even on a winter’s day.

And if you’re feeling creative, Shaken Udder have some great recipes involving these milkshakes on their website!

Goodness

Shaken Udder milkshakes contain a lot of goodness and are school approved!

They’re a tasty way for children to get the calcium and protein they need to grow. They also contain B12 which is a vital vitamin for supporting the immune system. Gluten free and suitable for vegetarians, they contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

They’re not just good on the inside either, they’re good on the outside too! Whether you go big (750ml) or small (330ml), all their bottles can be recycled.

They’re also taking lots of steps to be as sustainable as possible as a business. I don’t like buying plastic bottles and tend to just drink water from the tap, but with this assurance I’m happy to buy these.

It’s not just me that approves; as you can see Autumn does too!

Where can I buy them?

Shaken Udder milkshakes can be purchased from Boots, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, WH Smith, Amazon Fresh and Booths.

Disclosure: I was sent these milkshakes in return for a review. As always, all views are honest and my own.
