Celebrating 20 years of Harry Potter at Strood Library

As all big fans of Harry Potter, (or ‘Potterheads‘) will know, this is a very important week indeed. Monday 26th June marked the 20th anniversary of the first book, The Philosopher’s Stone being published. In the two decades that have ensued, the hearts and imaginations of children and adults worldwide have been captured.

Many have been celebrating, and J.K. Rowling has thanked her fans.

When I found out that Strood Library/Community Hub were also celebrating the 20th anniversary, I was so delighted that I almost felt 8 years old again!

Sweeps Festival, Rochester – 2017

On Monday 1st May we went to the Sweeps Festival in Rochester. An annual event, it is held over the first bank holiday weekend in may. If you visit, you can expect an array of wonderful stalls, as well as dancing, music and other entertainment. There are many wonderful historic traditions instilled within this festival.

Mrs Tickit’s Pantry and Rochester High Street

Last week, my Mum and I decided to pay a visit to Rochester. I love Rochester, with its many pubs and eateries. It also has a lovely variety of quirky shops, perfect for finding gifts for people or something unusual for yourself. I think it is one of the few places where you could probably find something for everyone.
