Dear Doctor,
I understand that you must have hypochondriacs visit you frequently. Perhaps that annoys you, maybe you feel like they’re wasting your time. Perhaps you’ve been fortunate enough to never experience health anxiety and can’t understand things from their point of view.
“Do people still even play Pokemon Go?” I saw written about a million times underneath posts on social media celebrating a year of Pokemon Go last week. Unless you were hiding under a rock somewhere this time last year, you’ll probably remember the craze of Pokemon Go within the first few weeks of its release. Everyone and their mums (literally) were outside in the sunshine with their phones, frantically swiping at their screens to catch pixel creatures.
Today marks a year since I downloaded the app to my phone, through a site based in Hong Kong as it hadn’t officially been released in the UK. Unlike most people who played it for a couple of months as part of the craze, I’m still playing it a year on. But why?
It sounds simple, right? Go to some shops and have fun trying on some dresses, until you find “the one”? It’s only when it comes to going to bridal shops that you realise there’s more to it. It helps to do some preparation before you go wedding dress shopping! Here are my top tips:
Dear Autumn,
You’re 9 months old, little one! You’ve very nearly been out in this world as long as you were in my tummy. I still miss you being in there sometimes, but it’s so wonderful to now properly know you and watch you develop.
As all big fans of Harry Potter, (or ‘Potterheads‘) will know, this is a very important week indeed. Monday 26th June marked the 20th anniversary of the first book, The Philosopher’s Stone being published. In the two decades that have ensued, the hearts and imaginations of children and adults worldwide have been captured.
Many have been celebrating, and J.K. Rowling has thanked her fans.

When I found out that Strood Library/Community Hub were also celebrating the 20th anniversary, I was so delighted that I almost felt 8 years old again!
