Sponsored Post with Very¦ One of my favourite parts of being a Mum is getting to celebrate different times of year with my children. Whether it’s Easter, Halloween or Christmas, I always embrace the season, decorating the house and doing various Christmas activities to make it as special as I can for them! I’ve been on a mission to leave no part of our home untouched by Christmas magic. I had two aims: 1. Find myself in the festive spirit as soon as I turn onto my driveway. 2. To walk into a joyful Christmassy sanctuary when I open the front door. I think I’ve definitely succeeded – let me show you!
Outdoor Christmas Lights
Seeing your home is such a welcoming sight after a long day, especially in cold weather. However, it never looks quite as inviting as when it’s dressed with Christmas Decorations! The delicate Christmas lights around my door make a big impact without being in-your-face. My favourite of the many settings is a gentle festive twinkle. The Christmas tree in the garden goes beautifully with it with its cool white lights. At 2.4m (including the star), it makes a statement without being gaudy.

Take a closer look at the beautiful wreath, by the way! I love how natural it looks, as I don’t have time to make my own wreath this year. Along with the lights, it makes our door look very elegant for the Christmas season. The white velvet bow that adorns adds a luxurious touch.

Also, I am so glad to have found a hanger for the wreath this year. Somehow I didn’t realise they were a product that existed. In previous years we’ve duct taped wreaths to the door…I know, not an ideal solution! You can see how much better and more practical the gorgeous snowflake hanger is!
Okay, let’s head into the house…
Our Room
I’ve bypassed the living room; as our family space it is already well decked with decorations. However, our bedroom has always been neglected when it comes to Christmas decorations. Until now! My goal here was to turn my husband and I’s room into a cosy and festive retreat where we can escape from the stresses of the day.
I can’t tell you how much fun I had choosing things for our room. Firstly, the duvet set is covered in trees and cute little woodland animals wearing scarves and jumpers. It’s a very soft plush material on top, while the other side is super cosy white sherpa. I can honestly tell you I have never slept in a cosier bed. The only downside is it makes it much harder to leave it in the morning! It was hard to choose as Very have a good range of Christmas Bedding, but I’m very happy with my choice!

I continued the woodland theme on the bedside table with two adorable glittery straw deer whose sweet little faces I couldn’t resist. It’s always important to add a touch of sparkle if you ask me. Even more so at Christmas time! For the other side, I found a gorgeous lit cloche containing a merry snowy winter scene.
When I saw a felt tree garland with pom poms, I knew that would tie in with the trees on the bed beautifully and make the middle of the headboard look less plain. However, to give the room that extra cosy feel we really needed some more lights! Firstly, I spotted some beautiful paper star lanterns with LEDs. Something about them and their gentle glow feels really nostalgic and reminds me of the magic of Christmas I experienced as a child. However, that wasn’t enough lighting for me, so another garland it was. Carefully strewn over the top of the headboard, it added a further glow with the light shining through its clear beads. Just look at that inviting festive glow!

Of course, the one thing I’ve failed to mention yet is the Christmas tree! I have always wanted a Christmas tree in my room, but it’s never transpired until now. This tree was also from Very and as you can see from the first picture, it’s in a pot. Therefore, you don’t need to worry about tree skirts or tinsel to cover up plastic legs. It’s also pre-lit so there’s no faffing around with lights (which always gets me in a tizz, not helped by being short). I toyed with the idea of leaving it bare as it looks wonderful as it is. However, my eye was caught by some fluffy white poinsettia clip decorations with beaded centres.
My room now gives “Christmas morning” vibes, I can just feel the excitement when I walk into it. Not only the excitement of my own children’s joy on Christmas morning, but also from when I was a child excited to spend time with my family and see what Father Christmas had left under the tree!
The Children’s Rooms
Autumn is now approaching her tween years, so she’s starting to find a lot of things babyish. This sweet duvet set manages to be cute and girly without being immature. The merry print incorporates bells, bows and holly in pastel colours. (Also, take a look at how pretty that beaded garland looks with a few of the fluffy poinsettias clipped to it).

Reuben, on the other hand, is only 4 and loves bright colours so was very excited about the jolly Santa print on his! It embraces the glee of finding that Father Christmas read your list and delivered just what you wanted on Christmas morning.

Here’s a close-up of the pillow case and a peek at the starry other side of the duvet. Adorable!

So now we all have a cosy Christmassy space to relax, curl up with a good book and maybe even have a delicious mug of hot chocolate. I am sure these things will be core memories for my children and evoke Christmas nostalgia for them in the years to come.
