Review: Eco Plush Collection

Ad – Gifted¦ National Earth Day falls on 22nd April, bringing the importance of climate change to the forefront of our minds. Many of us are making more eco-friendly choices in our lives. I know I personally have made a lot of swaps in my life over the last few years. I’ve used cloth nappies on both Autumn and Reuben, have used reusable water bottles for years and have eco-friendly cork encased deodorant. However, cuddly toys aren’t something that have crossed my mind too often. Eco Plush collection toys are an eco-conscious choice which are made from 100% recycled materials! Let’s take a closer look…

About Them

Do you ever worry about all the use of new materials for cuddly toys yet worry about the germs second-hand might harbour? You’re not alone. That’s one of the things I love about the Eco Plush collection the most. They’re an eco-conscious choice while still being safe for your little ones. Both the fabric and the filling of the toys are made from 100% recycled materials – plastic bottles, in fact! The boxes they’re packaged in also keep the environment in mind, as the carboard is sustainably sourced.

It is so important that we take care of the Earth, all year round, not just on National Earth Day. As the climate changes and everything becomes increasingly polluted it impacts plants and animals on Earth. Of course, that includes us humans. Ecosystems are shifting out of their clever alignments, effecting everything from the food chain to the air we breathe and the water we drink. The world is getting warmer and species are dying out, gone forever. We all need to take ownership and make eco-conscious choices to protect our world for our children and their children. Hopefully then enough of a difference can be made collectively for our children to experience as little hardship caused by the damage humans have caused our planet as possible.

The Range

So far there are 9 characters to collect in the Eco Plush collection, all favourites of pre-schoolers! Why not collect them all?

Characters include:

  • CoComelon’s JJ
  • Blippi
  • Barney
  • Teletubbies Laa-Laa and Po
  • Peppa Pig
  • My Little Pony’s Sunny and Izzy

Our Thoughts

These cuddly toys are so beautifully soft to the touch! At 8 inches tall, they’re just the right size for little hands to carry around and play with. With a RRP of £9.99 each (except for My Little Pony plushes which are £12.99 each) they are a great price point for a gift. With such a good range of characters, there is guaranteed to be a character that the toddler or pre-schooler in your life would love a soft toy of!

The embroidered green leaf logo on each toy is a cute touch, showing it’s eco-conscious credentials. This, of course, may prompt a conversation from your child which is a great way to introduce the topic of recycling. I bet they’ll be amazed to find out that their new favourite toy was once plastic bottles!

These toys are suitable from 18 months. However, I have been letting my 15 month old play with his Blippi and CoComelon’s JJ with supervision and I haven’t noticed anything that has caused concern.
