Review: ChattyFeet Socks

Review (Gifted)¦ Have you met the characters over at ChattyFeet yet? I refuse to wear boring socks unless I really have to (life’s too short!) Their exquisitely named socks are far from boring. From Kate Middle-Toe to Footgang Mozart to Frida Callous, there are a pair of socks for everyone! Even the littlest members of the family can join the fun as they also do socks for babies and children. ChattyFeet were kind enough to send me a few pairs, so we’ve been putting their quality to the test and learning more about their ethics. Of course, we’ve been playing and having silly conversations with them too!

Our Socks

I can’t lie, it took me a full weekend to choose from the array of artists, musicians, authors, scientists and royals. I giggled at all the names several times as I scrolled through. Jane Eyre is one of my favourite books, I’m fascinated by the Brontë family’s unfortunate history and I have always really enjoyed Piet Mondrian’s bold art style! As such, I eventually decided on a pair of Charlotte Brontoë and matching Feet Mondrian pairs for my 3 year old and I.

These socks would make great presents (it is nearly Christmas) with attractive and good quality packaging. The humour on the washing instructions were unexpected. (Spoiler: Charlotte Brontoë’s say “A washing machine is the perfect setting for a spin-off story”). Haha!

Sock Quality

They’re made from high quality combed cotton, so are super soft and really comfortable. Often toe seams on socks feel noticeable and a bit annoying. Not these, though! My 3 year old is notoriously fussy about socks. However, they even got his seal of approval. He wore them happily and we had great fun playing and making them talk. When I told him our feet are a work of art, he giggled with glee!

Sustainability

Looking after the environment is important to me and I always make an extra effort to support brands who share this view. They’re always looking to improve, but currently ChattyFeet do this by:

  • Limiting their polyester usage. Polyester is a type of plastic used in many of our clothes and is needed to keep socks stretchy. However, ChattyFeet socks are mostly combed cotton (75%).
  • They try to keep their carbon footprint as small as they can, producing the majority of their products close to where their customers live (with factories in Europe and Turkey).
  • The close proximity of their factories means they can get to know their suppliers and make sure that their high quality standards are upheld.

Parting Thoughts

ChattyFeet socks would make a great gift – or treat to yourself! I can imagine family and friends having fun making their feet chat in a homemade sock theatre this Christmas. Or perhaps in a circle for a Sockaholics Anonymous meeting! Whether they’re a fan of Piet Mondrian’s bold art like I am, or love listening to Eltoe (oops, Elton) John, there is a gift for them. Socks aren’t the only offering, so check out their other products too.

These socks don’t compromise fun for comfort and are already some of my favourite pairs to wear as a result. Plus, I love that ChattyFeet put thought into their sustainability too.

So, what are you waiting for?? Go and get your ChattyFeet!

Disclosure: We were kindly gifted the aforementioned socks from ChattyFeet for the purpose of this review. As always, all views and opinions are honest and my own.
