7 reasons why I want to visit Cornwall with my family

Sponsored Post¦ I am desperate to go on holiday. After almost 2 years of being in Kent, I am itching to get elsewhere and explore. Over the last couple of weeks, my brother, parents and best friend have all been to Cornwall. While I’ve really enjoyed seeing their photos and hearing about their holidays, I can’t help but be envious. I used to go to Cornwall every summer growing up and can’t wait to take my family to visit! We did take Autumn for a quick three day visit in 2018, but it wasn’t enough for me. With prices going up, my chances of going any time soon rest with camping or perhaps I could stay at cheap caravans in Cornwall. Either way, here are some reasons I want to visit Cornwall with my family!

Relive childhood memories

I am eager to relive a lot of my childhood memories with my own family. We already visited some places I often visited when we went in 2018, including The Lizard, Mevagissey and Land’s End. However, there are so many other places I want to introduce my husband and children to!

Eat an ‘ansome pasty

If you’ve had a pasty from Gregg’s or by Ginster’s, you might think you’ve had a Cornish pasty. But you haven’t. There is nothing quite like a proper ‘ansome Cornish pasty. If it’s eaten by the sea, wind whipping your hair back, even better. I need to get to Ann’s and taste that amazing pastry as soon as possible!

Take in the scenery

Of course, one of the best things about Cornwall is its natural beauty, with old tin mines scattered throughout the county. The rugged coastline and quaint villages look breathtakingly beautiful even when the heavens open. Although it might be difficult with children, I’d love to find some time to sit back, relax and admire the views. I’d take lots of photographs too!

Surf

I know that Autumn is keen to try bodyboarding and I want to learn to surf! The waves in north Cornwall are the place to go for these kinds of activities. When we finish splashing in the sea, the beaches are beautiful too. I remember bodyboarding in the sea at Porthtowan as a child and seeing a pod of bottlenose dolphins ahead of me. It felt magical!

Have a cream tea

It’s not just pasties that are an essential thing to eat when you go to Cornwall. A cream tea is an absolute must! Of course I can eat a cream tea in Kent, but somehow it just doesn’t taste as good. It’s about time I had one (or two, or three) in Cornwall again. Jam first, of course!

Explore new places

As well as visiting places I’ve been before, I’m keen to explore new places too! Can you believe that I’ve spent eleven and a half weeks in Cornwall, yet never been to the Eden Project? I think it’s about time I checked it out.

Go shopping

There are so many lovely independent shops in Cornwall. I love perusing the locally made products and crafty things. There is also an abundance of art galleries. It’s hardly surprising that people feel so inspired, given their surroundings!
