Collaborative Post¦ As a mum, self confidence is not always going to our strong suit. As soon as our bodies change during pregnancy, there’s no going back. Well, some mums seem to bounce back to their normal bodies, or perhaps even better than they ever used to be. But for the majority of mums, their bodies become a major insecurity. You can’t help but wish for this baby free young adult body that you used to have. Yes, you might have the precious love of a baby take make up for it, but sometimes we just want to feel beautiful again. There could be absolutely nothing wrong with your body as it is, but the insecurities in your mind will allow you to feel like you’re full of things that are wrong with your body. Well, we want to try and change that. We know that self confidence is only a stone’s throw away, all you have to do is look in the mirror, and tell yourself it will. With a lot of determination and drive, you can have any body, and any life that you want to have. To kickstart that drive right before the New Year, we’re going to show you why self confidence is only a stone’s throw away.
Sometimes a new found smile is all that’s needed to give you that confidence boost. Often it can feel like the only smiling you’re doing is related to your children, rather than yourself. Some mums hate to smile because they actually hate their smile. We’re not all blessed enough to have the most perfect smile. As we get older, there are so many things that can happen to our smile because of how we treated our teeth when we were younger. A high sugar filled diet is what a lot of us grew up on. There were not these strict regulations surrounding sugar and how much we should eat. So, we had E numbers and high sugar contents in our diet, and that might still be the same. So your teeth are going to pay the price, and they might already have done if you’ve had to have one removed. A new confident smile can be gained by having simple dental procedures. We’re lucky enough to have so many dental treatments available that can completely change our smile. It can be anything from dentures to having your teeth whitened.
Everyone is always so obsessed with talking about the dad bod, but what about the mum bod. We all know the changes that our bodies go through during pregnancy. Our tummies stretch to inhumane sizes, our boobs grow, our backs hurt, and our pelvic floor is destroyed. So it can leave us mums feeling rather deflated, especially if your bodies don’t go back to the way we wanted, as quick as we wanted. So rather than stressing about the body you feel like you’re not going to be able to have, we think you should embrace the mum bod, and let everything fall into place over time. Eat healthy, go on long walks with your little one, and generally be a healthy person. As long as you’re doing your pelvic floor exercises alongside this, your body will eventually fall back into its natural shape, giving you that confidence again.
Diet and routine is definitely something that you need to focus on. It ties in closely with the previous section that we spoke about. If you have a good diet and routine, you’re going to feel far better about yourself than if you got into the habit of eating ready meals and rushing every morning. Structured meals making sure that you’re getting in three meals a day, all clean, and drinking enough water, should allow you to feel far more body confident. As for a routine, getting eight hours of sleep a night, and waking up to do a good cleansing and moisturising routine will leave your skin looking and feeling amazing.
The motivation from others is definitely one that you need to draw from. You can easily feel far more motivated when you have someone by your side helping you. So, it could be your partner, your best friend, your sister etc. Whoever it may be, get them into the routine that you want to be in, with them. Once you’re both motivated, you’ll be an unstoppable force of success. Plus, if you are doing the gym and long walks and things, it’s just nice to have someone by your side.
