I have always really loved music and had an eclectic taste from a young age. I notice what I listen to often changes with the seasons. Whilst rock and metal are my favourite genres, I find that I listen to more chart music in the summer. After all, in the summer I’m out and about more with my husband and it’s often feel-good pop songs on the radio when the sun is shining! Thinking back, there is always one song each year that really reminds me of that summer. Here I look back through the stand-out songs to me thinking back to summers gone and the memories that relate to them. View Post
Summer is my favourite time of year. With longer days and warmer lights, I generally feel happier and more carefree. I’m always keen to make each summer as fun as possible, and I know that as Autumn gets older, they’re likely to get more and more fun! View Post
In the summer, I tend to become a lot more self conscious of my pale skin. I’ve actually been known to have paler skin than my ginger best friend. Yes, really. That’s how pale I am!
When I was a teenager, I went through the standard rite of passage of using a tinted lotion to build up a tan. However, I’d somehow end up streaky and with strange orange lines around my forehead. It has been estimated that around 16 million people in the UK suffer with hay fever. That’s at least 1 in 4 people! That means that a quarter of the population spend seasons of the year, often summer, with unpleasant symptoms. These can range from annoying to a level where they affect everyday life.
Unfortunately, the number of sufferers is rising, particularly in those who are middle aged. In fact, it has been predicted by Allergy UK that there could be as many as 30 million hay fever sufferers in the UK by 2030.
Thankfully, there are things you can do to help.
