A day at Drusillas Park children’s zoo with a toddler

We were recently invited to visit Drusillas Park on a press day to find out about all the fun they have to offer families who live in or are visiting the South East of England. Based near Alfriston, East Sussex, Drusillas Park is an 8.4 mile drive from Eastbourne. We were very excited to visit, as we’d heard great things but had never been before. Meanwhile, we thought Autumn would love it as she absolutely loves animals! View Post

Toddler-wearing with the Pao Papoose baby carrier

Toddler-wearing with the Pao Papoose baby carrier

I was quite late to the game when it came to baby wearing. This was partially due to a rough start for both Autumn and I. I wanted to baby wear, but simply didn’t feel up to it. When I finally did, I had a cheap stretchy wrap that I just couldn’t get the hang of. So, it was only when Autumn was about 10 months old that I went to a sling library and tried out a couple of slings. A structured style, similar to the Pao Papoose, really worked well for me. I also found that baby wearing is so practical too.  View Post

Review: Stikets personalised labels and stickers

Review: Stikets personalised labels and stickers

Autumn is just like most other children her age; vivacious and constantly onto the next thing. Of course, this can lead to their clothes and other possessions getting lost if you take your eye off them for even a second. We’ve managed to lose cups at soft play and we’ve nearly left her coat behind too. Recently, I started thinking it could be a good idea to start putting stickers on things. This is where Stikets come in! View Post

Review: Hape Shape Sorter Xylophone

Review: Hape Shape Sorter Xylophone

Babies can appreciate music even when they’re in the womb. Seeing Autumn enjoy dancing to music is one of my favourite things. In recent months, we’ve made the move onto playing musical instruments together too. This is a brilliant way to help develop their language and listening skills. We’ve been hitting saucepans with wooden spoons and shaking rice in bottles for a while as well as attending various classes. However, Autumn’s first ‘proper’ instrument was a xylophone kindly sent to us to review.

Kia Optima Sportswagon – The Perfect Family Car?

Kia Optima Sportswagon – The Perfect Family Car?

We recently had the pleasure of being asked to review a Kia Optima Sportswagon, to be a little more precise, a 2.0 GDi PHEV automatic. Stylish and full of mod cons, the Optima PHEV is Kia’s first plug-in hybrid model. We had the car for the weekend. Two days wasn’t long, but we tried it out the best we could in that time in a bid to unleash its full potential! View Post
