A couple of months ago, I was sent a book to review, Maternity Leavers by Soozi Baggs. I don’t often find the time to sit down and read, now that Autumn is on the move, so it’s taken me a little longer than first anticipated to get round to this. However, I’m glad that I found some time to read this. I think it’s difficult for many women on maternity leave to make a decision about work. Some can’t wait to get back, while others dread it and either try to be a full time stay at home mum or work from home/become self-employed. View Post
After having a child, I think many women have body confidence issues. Even if you fit back into your pre-pregnancy jeans soon afterwards, it’s unlikely that you’re the same body shape. I’m not convinced anyone goes back to being just the way they were. That’s okay though, we’ve delivered our babies, which is a wonderful thing. However, when we look at extra pounds and stretchmarks in the mirror, it can still make you feel rather down! Often, though, the men in our lives don’t seem to mind too much. I asked my husband to write me a letter about my postpartum body and his thoughts about it. All being well, I can read this in the future if I’m ever looking at my reflection and tearing myself to shreds again!
When I found out I was pregnant last January I’d just turned 24 years old. I was the same age in September when I gave birth to Autumn. I thought that was probably quite average, I didn’t think it was that young to become a mum for the first time. However, when I started going to baby groups I usually found that I was the youngest there. In one of the groups, a first time mum was only a few months younger than my mum! View Post
We had a lovely day out on Saturday (8th April). We went to the Baby & Toddler Show at Sandown park in Surrey. I’m always on the look out for new brands whose products I can try with Autumn. Of course, being a blogger, I’m always interested in working with brands too! Later in the afternoon we found some Lindt bunnies at Bluewater before we went home. View Post
Last year, shortly after I found out I was pregnant, my Dad’s friend told me about Little Rock Store. Since then I’ve been eager to own some of their merchandise. I love rock and metal, so to be able to buy mini band t-shirts for my baby is awesome! As well as other things like bibs, they also sell lullaby versions of some of my favourite albums. View Post
