Last night my husband and I attended the Bluewater premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which is officially released on Friday (16th November). Entering the IMAX screen at Showcase Cinema Bluewater, 3D glasses in hand, the air was buzzing. View Post
Like many locals, I was intrigued when I found out that The Copperfield was changing from a Crown Carveries to a Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery. With its great location on Gravesend Road in Shorne, it’s a perfect meeting place for families like ours who are spread between Gravesham and the Medway towns. As such, I have visited many times over the years. Recently, I was delighted to be invited to visit the newly refurbished restaurant to sample the menu and write a review. View Post
In the year that I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many different brands and companies that I admire. However, I feel the need to help the businesses in my local area in a somewhat different capacity by shining the spotlight onto them. As such, I’m planning to write a “Local Business Spotlight” regularly, (perhaps monthly), focusing on a business local to me. And where better to start than the wonderful Munns of Gravesend, which was quite possibly the very first business I admired? View Post
Last night, my husband and I had the pleasure of being invited to the official launch of the new extension at Showcase Cinema de Lux Bluewater. This saw four new state-of-the-art screens officially opened. We were really looking forward to it (and not just because it was our first child-free night together in a while!) View Post
On Monday, Autumn, Dave and I went to meet Farmer Christmas at Broadditch Farm. Yes, that’s right. Not “Father Christmas”, FARMER Christmas! I’ve been to Broadditch in Southfleet, Kent (near Gravesend) before for their Halloween and Easter events. They’ve been fantastic and there is also a wonderful farm shop I enjoy visiting. However, I’d never taken part in any of their Christmas activities before.
The best Santa’s Grottos often sell out weeks or even months in advance, so I quickly booked us in at the beginning of November. Funnily enough, it was the first Santa’s grotto I booked into, but the last one we’ll actually visit before Christmas! We saw Santa at a local preloved sale at the beginning of last month and again at Bluestone the following week.
Please excuse the quality of the photos in this post. It was dark and I only had my phone’s camera with me!
