From time to time, I like to use my blog to spread awareness of health issues and charities. In fact, I started it to share my story of Autumn’s ovarian cyst at 2 weeks old and my subsequent anxiety. I felt it was important to help others in a similar situation to feel they weren’t alone. This time, I’m spreading awareness of larynx cancer. View Post
As many of you will know, no doubt as you kiss a furry face, it is Movember this month! For anyone who isn’t aware, for the duration of November, many men (and some women) grow a moustache to raise awareness of men’s health! This can cover mental health, but also prostate and testicular cancers.
This is where HECK Sausages come in. This month, they have renamed themselves CHECK “in order to encourage men to search for lumps on their scrotum and for women to CHECK their partners too!”
Last month, I decided that I was going to challenge myself to help three charities. October was a lot more hectic than I anticipated, but I still managed to support all three of them. However, my promotion of that was a little lacklustre I feel. Still, I’m still fairly new to the world of ‘proper’ blogging. As such, it’s another experience to learn from and make better for next time! I always try to help at least one charity each year, and if I can use my blogging voice to do that then that is amazing.
Anyway, without further ado, here is how I did: View Post
I always try to do at least one or two things for charity in the course of a year. However, we’ve now reached October and I don’t think I remember doing anything so far this year! I’ve just been so busy with Autumn, the blog and university and the run-up to work that I guess I forgot. As such, this month I’m doing a couple of things for charity. My chosen charities are Breast Cancer Care, Maternity Worldwide and Smalls for All.
I’m doing a variety of things to help these charities, it’s not all just sponsorship! Let’s explore what they’re doing and how I’m helping them in a little further depth.
