Over Christmas and New Year, my sister-in-law went on holiday to New York. She asked us if there was anything we wanted. As a make up lover, my first thought was “OMG, SEPHORA!” and I transferred her some money. We used to have a Sephora at Bluewater in Kent, but that closed years ago. It was an amazing smelling shop with red carpets and I live in hope that one day Sephora will come back to the UK. In the meantime, the products my lovely sister-in-law picked me up will have to tide me over! To my amazement, she picked up everything I asked for (except for one thing that was out of stock) AND surprised me with another palette I’d wanted for my birthday! Anyway, that’s enough teasing. Let’s take a peek! View Post
At the end of last year, I was talking to a couple of my best friends about make up. I happened to mention that despite always loving the look of Urban Decay products, I’d never owned any. A couple of weeks later, I received a gorgeous Cath Kidston make up bag, an Urban Decay glitter eyeliner and this Vice Lipstick Palette from her for my birthday. To say I was delighted would be an understatement! I’ve now been using this palette almost daily since January, so I thought I’d write up a little review of it. View Post
As someone who has suffered from cystic acne from the age of 13, I’ve tried out loads of skin products over the years. I’ve always hoped to find that holy grail product and had some luck with various acids. However, when it comes to cleansers, toners and moisturisers, I’ve finally come to realise that nothing is probably going to help that much. Over the last few months, I’ve been trying out some Skintifique products without using anything else to see what happened. With scientific backing, claims to keep out pollution and metals and the promise to be kind to sensitive skin, these products were something different for me to try.
It’s the same story for my hands every winter. They get dry, crack, bleed and sting every time I wash them or use hand cream. This has only got worse since becoming a mother! Now, a new survey has shown that dry skin on hands ages them by an average of 9 years. Some hands were even ‘perceived to be 47 years older than their true age’. Meanwhile, healthy hands were ‘perceived to be younger than their actual age 56% of the time’. View Post
If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you’ll know that I only review products of brands that I’m genuinely interested in. Part of the beauty of what I do is that I get to work with amazing people and as well as working with brands I already know and love, I get introduced to new brands I can be passionate about too! Malée was not a brand that I’d heard of prior to the opportunity arising to review some of their products. However, they are definitely worth getting to know!
As I get older, I find myself increasingly worried about what products I’m using. Especially since becoming a mum, I find that I worry about what they contain. After all, I can’t stop Autumn from pressing her little face against mine or touching my skin. I also find myself being more concerned about whether products are cruelty free or not and their impact on the environment. View Post
