5 Easy Updates to Refresh Your Home

How often do you look around your house and want to change something about it?

Even if your home is nicely decorated, you can get bored with it from time to time. Likewise, if you’re not happy with the decoration there are things you can do to freshen things up a bit.

Here are some tips on how you can easily update your home!

1. Furniture

New furniture can work wonders to update a room, particularly if you choose a quality statement piece. How about a stool? I love this contemporary Swedese stool:

2. Paint

A splash of paint can make a room look completely different! You could try making a feature wall, or changing up the colour if you already have one. If a room is dull, use light colours to make the room appear brighter.

Pantone have recently released their Spring NYFW 2018 Color Palette and there are some vibrant colours that would be perfect on a feature wall! Little Boy Blue is gorgeous, or if you’re braver, there’s a gorgeous lime green.

3. Artwork

How about drawing the eye with some new artwork or pictures? You could get canvases made of recent photographs to display, or go for a bright eye catching painting like the one below from Dorkface.

4. Lighting

If a room feels dull, different lighting could really help to lift it! Alternatively, if you want to make a room feel more cosy, you could get some twig lights or a lamp or two.

I adore how cosy this one from John Lewis looks:

5. Furnishings

If the paint or wallpaper in your room is fairly neutral, you could completely update the room very easily simply by changing some of the furnishings. You could buy a new rug or some new curtains and cushions to refresh a room. Large rugs can really make a statement in a room!
