It’s been a while since I last wrote about what clothes are in the shops for babies. 5 months, in fact, eek! However, there are so many beautiful baby clothes coming into the shops for autumn and winter that I had to rectify this shortcoming! Baby style is something that I seem to be paying increasing amounts of attention to. Those who follow me on Twitter will know that while I’ve always liked Frugi, I have become a little obsessive recently! Oops – sorry hubby!
If I had unlimited amounts of money, I think I would just go nuts and spend hundreds of pounds on Autumn’s clothing. The sad truth is that I can’t, as I’m struggling having not had a proper income for the last few months! However, that’s the price I’ve paid for spending as much time at home with my baby as possible before I return to work. However, there are ways of getting around it.
I recently picked up some lovely clothes at a boot fair for Autumn. One top hadn’t been worn at all and only cost me 50p! It was from Boots Mini Club, but easily looked like it could have been from Joules. I’ve also been taking advantage of preloved selling groups on Facebook. My husband still complains, but it’s better than me buying everything new! Speaking of which, I’ve had to do some window shopping as research for this post and it has taken a LOT of restraint. A lot of restraint. However, I can confidently say that I haven’t bought any of these clothes. It’s actually a huge pity, but my poor, sickly bank balance is thanking me. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Here are my top pick of baby girl’s clothes for this autumn and winter:
I am obsessed with mustard things this season. I think having named my daughter Autumn, it makes me feel obliged to embrace this season and dress her in autumnal colours! This dress is so cute and I love the brightly coloured buttons.
I love the brightly coloured stripes of this cardigan – it would look great with the dress above!
How cool is this grey denim shirt dress?! Autumn’s step uncle has bought her this for her birthday. I think she’s going to look so adorable in it with either tights or leggings and a little pair of Converse!
I’ve started thinking about winter coats for Autumn, as it’s getting chilly and I’m having to wrap her up warmer and warmer. I love this grey coat from Next.
There are some lovely things in H&M at the moment. However, a lot of them seem to be light pink. While the clothes are lovely, pastel shades remind me more of spring and I prefer more vibrant, jewel colours at this time of year. This cable knit dress looks so lovely and cosy. It’d look adorable with some little boots!
JoJo Maman Bebe
I love dungarees for babies because:
A) They’re so practical
B) They look super cute!
The material and design of these ones from JoJo are lush!
Children are only little once and I’m sure it won’t feel long until Autumn’s 16 and wearing mini dresses. As such, I love putting her in cute, colourful things with characters on. I adore this fox pinafore dress. The colour of it, as well as it being a woodland creature, makes it feel very autumnal.
Okay, I know I said that I prefer brighter colours at this time of year to brighten the days, but there are exceptions! Gorgeous Christmas clothes are coming into the shops now. This Monsoon reindeer dress is so cute! As it’s not explicitly Christmas themed, little ones can wear it through the whole winter.
Monsoon’s coats are so beautiful too. I was absolutely swooning over them when I saw them in store last month. This blush pink one is gorgeous with its petal-like ruffles at the bottom and flower buttons.
This red coat is gorgeous too, especially for the festive season! Autumn had a lovely red Jasper Conran from neighbours last year and she looked so lovely in it with her little Christmas bonnet!
I love the embroidery trend and hope it doesn’t go away any time soon! I have an embroidered dress and an embroidered jumper myself. Autumn hasn’t got anything embroidered yet, but I adore this romper. It looks just as cosy as it is cute…which is very!
I love Matalan for gorgeous baby clothes at great prices. This bunny dress and leggings set has a great colour scheme going on and I love the little bunny in the pocket!
TU at Sainsbury’s
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a bigger picture of this outfit as it’s out of stock online and will only show me this thumbnail! I adore this outfit so much and am desperate to buy it for Autumn. However, we’re having a bit of a sizing dilemma at the moment, so I’m not sure which size I should get. She’s on the 50th centile, so she’s average size for her age, yet in clothing much smaller than her age! It’s very confusing, but if the way it’s sold out online is anything to go by, I need to get to the shop and make a decision on size very quickly!
This hedgehog dress is a bit quirky! Once again, it has the woodland creature and autumnal coloured theme that I adore. I’m a big fan of hedgehogs, so here’s a quick tip. When you’re lighting bonfires this autumn and winter, always check to make sure there’s not a little one hiding in there somewhere before you light it!
You may have guessed by now that I really like pinafore dresses! I love the vintage sage colour of this one and the people print top underneath.
I love River Island for clothes, handbags and shoes, but would they be my first thought for children’s clothes? Probably not! However, I must make sure I look for clothes for Autumn there in the future. They have some really cute, on-trend pieces for children!
I love the embroidery trend and these jeans are both cute and fashion-forward!
Of course, Primark don’t have or sell any of their clothes online. However, I’ve filmed a recent haul over on my YouTube channel (don’t forget to subscribe!)

So, what do you think? What was your favourite and will you be buying any of these?
