I’m fairly new to the world of blogging ‘properly’. Although I’ve actually had blogs on and off for the last 12 years, this is the first time I’ve got involved in the community, social media and concerned myself with things like SEO! However, I have big hopes and dreams. After meeting amazing bloggers and companies at the press launch of This Morning Live, Rochester Sweeps Festival, This Morning Live and The Baby Show, I’m really looking forward to going to Blog On in September. However, I would love to host my OWN blogging event somewhere down the line! Here are some of my thoughts on how I might approach it.
Event location & venue
I’m based in Kent, only around 25 miles from central London. As such, I would pick London as a location. Our capital city is vibrant and buzzing, just like the blogging community! Travel links are excellent, hopefully resulting in it being accessible for most bloggers.
One of my favourite parts of London is the Victoria Embankment, so One Embankment would be the perfect venue! Having hosted The Elle Style Awards and the after party for the BRITS with Universal Music and Soho House, it certainly doesn’t lack in style. I just love the sound of mingling and having fun with other bloggers, all with the wonderful view of the River Thames and the Embankment.

Food & drink
One Events, who own the aforementioned venue, have an in-house catering division called One Dining. With British produce and seasonal ingredients, the food at my event would be amazing. We’d have beautiful canapés, including fried cheese chimichangas and smoked harissa chicken. For those with a sweet tooth, there would be chocolate & honeycomb and lemon & poppy seed cake pops. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
Of course, every good party has cocktails! These would include my favourite, mojitos, as well as non-alcoholic options such as refreshing pomegranate and lime.
Entertainment
Of course, much of the entertainment would be guest speakers, mini workshops and the fun of speaking to other bloggers. However, I think it would be fantastic to have an illusionist similar to Derren Brown. It would be a good ice-breaker, trying to work out how the illusions work.
Freebies
Blogging events are well known for their freebies and samples from brands! I would aim to get a whole range of companies on board, so that there would be something for everyone in their goody bags. There would be teething toys for babies, food, headphones, shopping vouchers and more!
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post with One Events. All views are honest and my own.
It sounds like it would be a great event! #blogstravaganza

Sounds like a great idea.
I’d love to host a blogging event – not in London though, there are already loads there so I’d aim for somewhere a bit more central
Thanks for linking up to #BloggerClubUK 🙂
