The nerve-wracking first post!

As I write my first post, I am slightly nervous. Will anyone actually bother to read my blog? Will it be the most boring blog in the history of blogs? Thinking logically, I very much doubt it is, but these are the sort of thoughts that a habitual anxious over-thinker has! I haven’t written a blog since I was 14. My blog was mostly about my daily life, hanging out at the local park with my friends. I don’t think I’m going to stick to a niche this time either – I think I’ll blog about a whole plethora of things as my brain is full of so many interests and thoughts, way more than I have time for! After all, variety is the spice of life, eh?I’m sorry, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Laura, I’ve recently turned 25 (a quarter of a century – eek!) and I live in the South East of England, not so far from London. I am a first time Mummy of a beautiful four month old little girl. Life as a Mummy did not start out at all as expected, which I will be blogging about at some point, but it is *fingers crossed* improving now. I am married to a wonderful man called Dave who is quite odd but also a brilliant friend, life partner and Daddy and I don’t know what I’d have done without him in my life the last 9 years.

I enjoy writing, so I thought I’d try to find the time to start writing a blog again. I think I was also somewhat inspired by Nikki (aka. Glam & Geeky Mum), a friend and ex work colleague of mine who has recently started writing a blog which I’m really enjoying – she has three beautiful children and two step-children and is an absolute super mum! I can’t say I have an abundance of time either. I’m studying for a Social Sciences degree with the Open University part-time and so much of my time is taken up by my wonderful little girl, Autumn.

My interests are very varied, so you can expect all sort of subject matter in my blog. They include the following:

  • Parenting and childcare
  • Writing
  • Photography (I’d like to find more time to improve on this, I’m not very good)
  • Beauty
  • Cars (particularly Land Rovers)
  • Mental health awareness
  • Food (especially cheese and chocolate)

Thank you for reading this far, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this and will enjoy my posts to come! (Also, please do comment and give me a wave if you’re here!)

Fantastic first blog post a laura! I’m also hoping to develop my photography skills this year; we should look into setting ourselves some photo challenges that we can the both blog about!

When the family needs a vacation it might be worth checking out timeshare resales for future vacation accommodations. The great thing about this option is you can sell timeshare or trade-up points when you want to explore other locations.
